"While we appreciate Mr. Prorok’s review, it is inaccurate and therefore we need to respond to the false allegations. We supplied tax returns to Mr. Prorok with the information he provided to us. Mr. Prorok’s return was completed in February, well before the filing deadline. At that time Mr. Prorok should have reviewed his tax return prior to signing and filing. It would be our recommendation for Mr. Prorok to review any work performed on his behalf that he review the information prior to signing and filing. In addition, Mr. Prorok’s mother did not contact our firm until August 22. Six months after their returns were sent to them for review and filing. Furthermore, we have no control over FAFSA nor do we provide this service. It would be our suggestion that you follow-up with FAFSA once you complete the paperwork to verify that your filing is in process. FAFSA communicates directly with each individual as to the status of their filings and they send frequent reminders letting you know that your filing is not complete. Finally, we never tried to have your mother “fired”, we have no control over your $2500 grant, your father’s unemployment has nothing to do with your tax return and his tax return was filed with no errors. J.M. Hartmann & Company is very professional, knowledgeable, and always accountable for their actions. Our reputation is outstanding aside from Mr. Prorok writing this review on all social media platforms. We are always open for discussion and offered this to Mr. Prorok and his family."

"Terrible- I would never recommend having your taxes done here. I was a student and my mom had my taxes done for me through J.M Hartman. After the taxes were filed my mom & I were reviewing the information because I had to apply for FAFSA. If I didn't get a promotion at work on campus at the same time as starting the semester, I would have gotten evicted from not being able to pay my apartment off! On my tax form, the town I lived in was wrong. The Social Security number this company used was wrong. I lost out on receiving a $2,500 grant because of the mix-up. We called the company to complain about the incident because not only were my taxes and information wrong but so was my dads & brothers. Instead of J.M Hartman handling his mistake like a professional, he called my moms job (which he also represented) and told my moms boss to have her fired! My dad was temporarily on unemployment and couldn't receive his benefits from his taxes being filed improperly.Also, my little brother will not be receiving his financial aid due to the screw up. I hope no one has to go through what my family did. This is a company with no morals and no accountability."
