The Morton Schapiro Northwestern Academy for Chicago Public Schools aims to increase access and successful matriculation of underrepresented, academically motivated students from Chicago Public Schools to top-tier colleges and universities. Programs like Black Kids Predict and STEAMbassadors train students in data science and STEM education to empower them with practical skills and opportunities for future success.
Exciting developments are underway at Northwestern University, including the transformation of the Donald P. Jacobs Center into a new hub for the social sciences and global studies. Student-run groups are also working to foster a sense of belonging and solidarity among women in computer science to boost female participation in the field.
Research by Northwestern University alumni has shown that black teachers are less likely to identify same-race students as needing special education services, highlighting important disparities in the education system. The School of Education and Social Policy is constantly evolving, with plans to offer a one-year Master's in Learning and Organizational Change program starting in September 2024.

"Fantastic MSED program coordinator Caitlin Dunlap Sikes. Very resourceful and communicative, quick with replying and clear about what the office can and cannot be of help with. Provides guidance on the application process bridging the gap between the applicants' initial evaluation of the requirements and the actual contextual necessities. All the best!"
"Cool architecture. Nice park along the lake. Buildings are an interesting mix of old architecture and new architecture."
