"Out of all the Pace bus terminals, this is probably the most unique in that it is situated next to a river and when the buses line up, they face opposite directions due to the one-way configuration of the surrounding streets. To get to this bus terminal from the train station, one has to walk west along the train station platform to the street and then walk across. On one side of the terminal building, there is a passenger waiting area with vending machines, and on the other side, there is a beautiful bus driver break room. Oh, and did I mention that this terminal is situated next to the river? That alone makes this terminal a great place to sit (or stand) and relax as you await the arrival of your bus."
"Nearly all of the busses leave right before a train arrives, practically every time. Almost none of the schedules are aligned with the metra schedule."
"Nice, small lobby with a couple benches to sit and wait for your bus. Comfortable. Couple vending machines. Woman at information window was very helpful and friendly. They provide printed schedules. I hadn't taken a bus in years and it was a pleasant experience. Well done Pace."
"I must recommend this transit center for residents who live in Elgin or the Elgin area! Lots of buses and options for anyone! Buses are most likley on time when I am there! I gave it 4/5 Stars. -1 because Saturdays end very early."
"Where the 554 begins. Indoor seating is really good, considering Chicago winters. There's occasionally the beggar or person who "just needs another dollar". Could be paved a little bit better so people don't end up getting swiped by a bus. However it gets the job done pretty nicely as far as public transit goes."
