"Deceptive billing. Made me pay $140 to see dr claiming that was my portion of office visit (for a 30 minute visit). Then sat me in a room for 45 minutes, and I only saw the dr for 15 minutes. They billed me for an hour visit even though I sat alone for most of it which doubled the price. Then, everything the doctor did in the visit was described as routine, but they billed it as a procedure so all in all, a $140 estimated bill turned into a $500 bill."

"For such an expanding medical facility (UTMB), they have limited staff to help w/ Audiology & Hearing Appts, so expect to wait 30 days to see a Dr, only after you are required to see an audiologist. If you have an emergency issue, might as well goto Urgent Care. Appt staff were nice and helpful, but need more professional staff to serve the public. Disappointed"

"Update - My father called so many times trying to get them to call back. It took numerous family members calling and then writing this review to finally get more prompt and caring service. Just sad. At least they got him in asap to replace the hearing aid battery. Original post: My father purchased hearing aids from UTMB ENT. One recently stopped working, so he brought it back to rapair. He was told it would take 2 weeks to be returned. At that time they noticed the battery in the other hearing aid was low, but did not have a replacement. 4 weeks later he finally got the one hearing aid returned, but they didn't order the replacement battery. We had to call every other day for 2 weeks until we got the appointment to pick up the repaired hearing aid. Now we are waiting for the call back for the battery. When I just called, they said there is no note that he has requested a replacement battery and that it will take 24-48 hours before someone calls back, let alone orders a battery if it hasn't been ordered. What's the point of spending $6000 to get special small hearing aids, if you still can't hear because the battery is low or it doesn't work?"

"The WORST experience I’ve ever had with a medical office. Hands down. Every step of the process has been a nightmare. You’re dismissed by employees that don’t care and promised call backs from different departments that never happen. If you want anything done you have to call and call until you finally get someone that MIGHT help. There are hardly ever appointments available. They can’t even manage to preform a test and an appointment in the same office. But they’re happy to have you driving to multiple locations in one day if it works for them. If you enjoy making things needlessly stressful and dealing with inept employees, UTMB is the right choice for you."

"Be careful about the cost. I was scheduled for a routine follow up. They explained that I was being charged $40 for the doctor and $40 for a hearing test. I asked if I really needed the test because I was hearing fine. They said they wanted to establish a baseline. For $40 I decided not to argue. Two weeks later I received a bill for $150 additional for the hearing test. I tried to talk to them but they were unsympathetic. I paid the bill but felt tricked. Between me and my insurance they made close to $800 in 30 min. This lack of transparency really bothers me. I will not be going back despite the nice doctor and technician. The billing experience was completely unacceptable and left me certain I would never be confident about their fees or motivations when it comes to recommendations."
