"Unless you are scheduling an appointment at the Lakeview location do not try to schedule another appointment at a different location. I had to go to Skokie for a procedure, and the scheduler at Lakeview botched it. As background, I have medical PTSD (not due to anything remotely related to NS I want to be very clear on that. So the scheduler at Lakeview put me in for the last appointment of the day, and told me to arrive a half hour early to make sure I got in. I explained due to my condition, waiting areas are a trigger for me, and confirmed about ten times. I get there at 3:45 to check in and they said the only thing in the notes is “patient is arriving early”. I was sending messages on NS connect about it, and was ignored multiple times previously to this, because the time was not updated on NS connect. By no fault of the staff on site, I didn’t even get in a room til 4:15 and didn’t see him til 4:45. I explained the situation to Bridget (his rockstar nurse) and she did everything in her power to help, in addition to Dr. Gafni-Kane. Between Dr. gafni-Kane, Bridget, and Meredith (the scheduling manager) I have never seen a staff come more together to actually help ensure this would never happen again. My next visit all three of them made me feel like a VIP rockstar. I cannot emphasize enough the kindness, professionalism, and just overall caring for my health and well being. I was explained everything by Meredith, Bridget, and Dr. Gafni-Kane in detail and updated every fifteen minutes. I think I even messaged Dr. Kane and thanked him for the “W”. Two things I would like to add is this I randomly asked him why he got into the profession that he did, and he gave me a very specific, detailed answer, but the thing that resonated with me the most was that he hopes to end patients suffering. Bridget also told me that I would be treated like a VIP every time I come into that office. I feel like all three of them know me. I cannot sing the highest of praises to the three of them! It is in Northshore’s best interest to keep that three person “dream team” together for as long as they can. He is also VERY detailed in explaining procedures so I rarely have questions which I personally like."
