"My family and I had a wonderful time on our tour to Ghana. It felt really nice to arrive & not have to worry a thing since everything was already planned out for us. "This was an experience that I thought I would never do. I had no idea it would be so touching with inspiration. I think the entire itinerary was on point with the exception of a few cliches which can be expected, but the Host worked through them to accommodate what was planned for the day. I would recommend this experience to anyone who has wishes to visit the mother land. If you don't know enough about your history this would enlighten you to have knowledge about your heritage. Touching moments for myself were the Slave River and the Naming Ceremony. The tour guide was excellent throughout all tours, explaining languages and different cultures. Answering all questions for group members. My only recommendation would be to have some downtime between the tour for you to grasp all that was seen."

"This was the trip of a lifetime for my husband and I! We were invited to attend zoom meetings to prepare us for the trip and received very useful information to help make our trip memorable. We were met upon arrival at the airport by our hosts and guides. Our time was filled with tours and memorable dinners and entertainment. From Accra to Elmina to Cape Coast, each stop was a different history lesson from Ghanaian and American perspectives. We had plenty of time to shop and explore and see the real Ghana. The trip was full of the good, the old and new Ghana. African Connections has a great understanding of what African Americans look for when undertaking this type of trip. They delivered!"

"This tour was the best decision I could have made for me and my family. African Connections went above and beyond to accommodate all of our needs. My husband and I rested assured that we were in the best hands. We had A culmination of sobering moments. After the tours, I felt that even though I may not know my exact ancestry this is one of the last places that my ancestors touched before leaving these shores. We toured The Door of No Return, the Assin Manso Slave River, Manhyia Palace Museum, and Elmina Castle. We also admired the culture of the Ashanti Region, Kumasi. We ended our tour in Accra at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and Black Star Square, also known as Independence Square. When it was all said and done I had the overwhelming sense that Ghana has been the gateway for millions of Africans who were taken away from this soil to various parts of the diaspora throughout the last couple of centuries. Presently that’s reversed, Ghana is now a gateway for hundreds of thousands, and hopefully, millions, of Africans in the diaspora to return to Mother Africa, through the gateway of Ghana. Touring Ghana through the African Connections travel agency was an experience of a lifetime! I believe every African American needs to experience this tour in their lifetime!"
