"Do not go to Carlota Lopez. My taxes were pretty simple. After 20 minutes we were done. I felt very uncomfortable with it and said I think I want to do them myself. She took my papers, went to back and said they would shred all of them except the ones she gave me back. Had two w2s originally. She gave me 1 and a copy of the other. Was all very shady. I’ve always had good experiences w H&R Block otherwise. Avoid Carlota (Charlotte) Lopez!"

"I scheduled an online appointment a few weeks ago and they called me the day before the appointment stating that the online system should not have let me do that since they are booked out for weeks. That was fine at the time, so I scheduled an additional appointment by phone. I show up to my appointment today and the scheduled advisor for me was not there. A second advisor sat down with me to briefly discuss what documents I had brought in stating that she had a client coming in soon. Then she proceeded to discourage me from pursuing services with the company And that it would be best if I do my taxes on my own. As I understand that things happen, I balance two jobs and a personal schedule in order to make appointments happen. When something like this comes up and I take time out of my week to show up, it’s disappointing that it’s not respected in the same way, but an absolute shame that even after all of that, I was considering staying to have them completed and was still being guided to do them myself."

"This was the first time I was reaching out for help with taxes and it was a mistake. I showed up 15 minutes early to my appointment to be sure everything ran smoothly, and I ended up waiting 35 minutes, after my appointment time just to be told that the person I had an appointment with was behind and it would be another 40 minutes before she could even see me; while a man who walked in got seen right away for 10-15 minutes. Why even have appointments when you don’t respect people’s time? If someone is late they should either have their time cut or they should have to reschedule. The situation was handled unprofessionally and I’ll never waste my time or money here again."

"We had a horrible experience with “Doris Morgan”. Felt like we were being interrogated and our answers to her questions were doubted. I explained how we did not get our stimulus amount for our dependents and rather than her saying “okay we will figure it out” she questioned me 5 different times throughout the process as if my answer was going to magically change that I somehow was lying. Also questioned why we went back to h&r after we filed with turbo the year before, in a rude way. Then when it came to asking for dependent information instead of asking how many dependents am I claiming, she states “how many kids you got, 4 or 5?” I was upset how she assumed and profiled me. This experience was so horrible and I will never go back because of this “tax expert”. Even the front office lady was shocked at how she treated us and apologized. Filing taxes should be simple and you shouldn’t feel interrogated or profiled to where they assume how many kids you have and your status. I had a gut feeling after meeting her that we shouldn’t file and after the 3rd time of her being rude, we just grabbed our papers and left and she said okay fine and left the desk. Doris also wasn’t even going to file our return that day, said she had others to get to and she would call us next week when she’d have it done, I’ve never left a tax office without knowing my return amount. I called after to complain to a manager and how horrible our experience was, was told she wasn’t available and never got a call back. We ended up going with a private tax accountant who answered ALL of our questions and educated us as well as had our return done in an hour."
