"Dr. Higgins is an AMAZING doctor. He not only treats the patient he truly cares about the overall health of the patient as well. He spends time with the patient without rushing. I am so happy we found him after trying so many other psychiatrists. He was recommended to us by a counsellor. The office staff are very nice, quick , polite, and responsive. He does virtual -zoom visits and it’s perfectly fine. Dr. Higgins DOES NOT palm the patients off to a nurse practitioner which we experienced with every other place we tried. Highly Recommend Dr. Higgins."

"Find a different doctor. I went to this doctor to have my 10 year old daughter examined for suspicions of ADHD. First visit was a virtual one. I was assuming this was cause of Covid. But every follow up was also virtual. He was quick to diagnose her with it and prescribe her medication. The fact that he never saw her in person and made every appointment a virtual one made me suspicious. I called my insurance and asked about the type of visits he was doing and I was told by my insurance that he was billing me wrong. He was charging me for an actual office visit when it should have been filed as tele health. Stay away from this doctor."

"This is the absolute worst excuse for a psychiatrist I’ve ever seen. This is what affirmative action brings to medical practice. I made an appointment with him because he was the only one that had an appointment available, which I should have known was a bad sign. He had openings where others didn’t because he was such a terrible excuse for a doctor. When you get there his office waiting room is covered with some scam diet herbal program he’s pimping off on his patients. You know that is great ethics to start off with. He collects the payment before he sees you because I’m sure many people have found him useless and walked out because he truly doesn’t earn his money so he’s got to rob you before you get in there. Two weeks before I saw him, my house had caught fire and I had watched my home and everything I owned burn and lost some some of our pets in the tragedy. I was working at a hospital and they were just so happens having fire inspections that month and fire alarms were going off everywhere. I was having extreme panic attacks and sought medical help. This man just flat our refused to treat acute panic and only wanted to pass out antidepressants. I did medical transcription for years and for psychiatric hospitals so I recognized his questionnaire. The only thing he did in our visit was go down a list of questions and barely even look up and make eye contact with his patient. The list of drugs he was offering take 6 to 8 weeks to become effective and were medically inappropriate to treat the acute panic I was suffering at the time, but that’s all he was willing to offer and told me I was free to leave (as he had already collected his fee). He was cold and uncaring and I would hate to see someone seek this beast’s care if they were suicidal. And I shudder to think he has access to treat a child. I would take my dog to this con man. I took his prescription and all it did was make me gain 25 pounds. This man is not a help to patients; he’s actually harmful. Stay away from him."

"I didn't find Dr Higgins to be an exceptionally personable Doctor. He was always professional and knows how to do his job with respect to prescription of medications. Don't expect much talk therapy, but many psychiatrists don't do that anymore either. Many psychiatrists these days just prescribe. I prefer more talk and building better rapport with a psychiatrist through talking. Not as warm a person as I would prefer but maybe my expectations are too high based on my experience with psychiatrists before and after Dr Higgins. After about 5 or 6 months I took my business elsewhere since my daughter recommended a new psychiatrist who she said was very caring and that proved to be the case. Contrary to several other reviews, i did not find the office staff to be objectionable, they were always nice to me."

"Staff had the worst attitude. From phone calls to in person interactions. Lack of customer service skills would normally be a deal breaker for me but I stuck around for a bit long. After all, we have our bad days right? Well, after about 4-5 visits I was done. Never mind the staff, Dr. Higgins is not compassionate at all. I felt like a cattle going through his office. I explained about my issues with anxiety and he disregarded it. Please take your business else where. There are plenty of great Doctors in and around Houston. Trust me, it would be night and day compared to Dr. Higgins and his office."
