"I moved in nearly 2 years ago after 2 visits and calculating as to whether I could afford to live here as my forever home. As it turns out, I can’t. I was offered a deep discount to accept my tiny 1-bedroom apartment. I was assured that rent increases would be between 3-4%. Based on that, I decided the move was right. My first yearly rent increase was 8%; my current increase is just under 15%! The building is lovely, the residents are even lovelier. The surrounding area is not so lovely. There is a PACE bus depot on the southeast side of the building where the homeless sleep and the noise can wake you at all hours of the day and night. There has been a shooting within yards of the building. There is no free overnight parking for visitors. Yorktown mall owns the empty parking lots, so they make the parking rules. Take this as a warning not to be distracted by the sparkle in the building and the sales hype. A recent resident survey from Greystar corporate office asked what we think about some apartments being rented through Airbnb. Hold onto that thought."
