"Dawson Equestrian Center is a place to come to have fun learning, establish a long-term partnership, and "just be". The horses' well-being is first as it should be. This is the horses' home! Because of this effort their horses are able to give their best and be good for people. It is obvious in conversation and action that Shannon remembers being the girl with the horse dream. She remembers needing someone to kindly and cheerfully come alongside her to teach and encourage her along the way. This is always displayed in her efforts. She works well with any age. It is just a gift she has and puts to use. She treats everyone with respect and importance. She even gets any children who see one another at different lesson times to talk to one another and introduce themselves if they have not met before. She nurtures teaching them healthy communication and community. She will not limit any student. She will encourage you to do as much as you would like, not even to be limited to learning one discipline in the future. She says you can do all you desire to do. Shannon is someone who wants to share her knowledge and experience. Personally, I appreciate how that starts with love and respect for the horses, really listening to them first. This a place where you come to learn important foundational aspects of partnering with horses and concrete riding skills you can use in any discipline of riding. Shannon will help you achieve your goals without a doubt, and it will be fun! If you reach a point that you want to concentrate on a discipline that she feels you need help from another trainer, she will encourage that and even help you find someone to best fill that role if possible. She wants all of her students to achieve their goals and maybe even find one they did not know about before. Shannon and her husband James give 100 percent to what they do. The horses are number 1! A proper environment for the horses and safety are everything. They want an environment for people to learn and have fun. Most of all they show love and respect to the horses. They listen to them! They treat people the same. Give it a chance, and you will be happy and thankful you did. It is not about everything being fancy and pretend perfect. It is about heart, and you will find it here."

"I know absolutely nothing about horses and have never had any experience with Dawson Eqestrian Center regarding horses until the day I reached out to all the local barns in my area because my daughters and I found a stray mother cat and her babies. No one had any interest in the mother cat "Astro" and we struggled to keep her in our house with our dog and cat. Dawson Equestrian reached back out to me and had interest in her coming to join them and finding her forever home there at the barn! I was a complete stranger to them and they wanted meet "Astro". We brought her to them and they welcomed her with open arms, and her own perfect little area for her to adjust to life at the barn. I loved the barn and all the animals including the cats were happy and looked like they were having a blast. I feel like this center and their employees take care of animals like they are royalty! I was just so impressed and thankful that "Astro" will get to have a great life. I am positive that is must be a wonderful Equestrian center and that all the animals have all they could ever need or want just judging by how they treat a complete stranger and a stray cat. My daughters and I left happy and not worried at all. We also plan on coming back when my daugthers wish to start horse riding.
