"No way. I can't recommed Dr Benig. He behaved as if he were selling bags of hammers rather than providing healthcare. He refused to see me today for a scheduled appointment b/c I refused to pay a $30 late fee (10 days late) on a $79 Medicare Bill, which I was prepared to pay. Sort of a pay to play attitude. The $79 charge accrued b/c Dr Benig required an OV to fill out an Rx Prior Authorization. Most Docs do this simple paperwork as part of follow up services to a patient's OV. The $30 fee would have been waived if I agreed to auto billing for all future charges. Of course, this won't happen. My first visit to Dr Benig would not be scheduled unless I provided a credit card upon wh a $50 charge was made at the time I made my first appointment. Do yourself a favor. Go to an AMITA/ St Joe's Doctor on Staff, not one with just hospital privledges."

"My wife and I are 78 yrs. Young. We have been lucky over that time to have 2 extremely great doctors. Were from Chicago just moved out here so we had to find a Dr. in this area.We picked Dr. Bennig for his location. That was like winning the lottery for us.As far as we are concerned he is a great Doctor , a great guy as good as the 2 that I mentioned before probably better. Eleanor and Ed Ruzanski. "Dr Benig is an all around super doctor. I go to him for all of my primary physician needs. He and his staff are compassionate, human, down to Earth people. Recently I went to him with severe abdominal pains and was admitted to St Joseph's hospital ( which has a super great staff as well!) When I woke up the first morning in the hospital, there was Dr. Benig, by my bedside, checking my charts and asking how I was doing. Very few doctors go to the hospital these days once their patients are admitted to the hospital. He was there every day checking on me and then made sure I had a follow-up visit to ensure all my needs were taken care of with my home care. They dont make 'em like him anymore!
