Houston Self Defense is a premier health institution located at 7645 South Texas 6, Houston, Texas, United States. Founded by General Choi Hong Hi in 1946, we offer a variety of martial arts programs including Taekwondo, Judo, Aikido, and Kung-fu.
Taekwondo focuses on delivering maximum power and speed with minimum effort, while Judo emphasizes control over an opponent's weight and force. Aikido is a defensive style that redirects an attacker's force, and Kung-fu combines Vietnamese and Chinese self-defense techniques.
Our introductory program allows first-time martial artists to try out Taekwondo, Judo, Aikido, and Kung-fu with two trial lessons. Our experienced masters will evaluate your abilities and recommend the best program for you.

"Came here to sign up my two kids and the sign on the door says that the office opens at 9am on Saturday and classes start on Saturday at 10am. Well I came at 9:10am on saturday June 9th, 2018 and the place is closed. Came back at 10:10 and it's still closed. I even seen a kid and his parents come to go to class, he had on his uniform. Still no one there. They knocked on the door and still nothing. They then got tired of waiting and drove off disappointed. I tried calling the number listed on the website and no answer. It went to a fax number. Then after waiting longer and longer than expected I looked up other martial arts centers and decided to go elsewhere and sign my kids up. I guess this is an example of how the business is actually ran."

The specialized classes along with the certified 2nd and 3rd Dan black belts that teach them add more variety and depth as compared to the basic training alone. From Aikido, to Judo and even Hapkido, you're certain to find one that suits you the most. After training here for 9 years (and having my family train here as well), I can firmly say that you will not regret signing up."
