The Wisconsin Wood Inn

"My original reservation via priceline said the Wisconsin wood inn but when we stopped to check in the gal said our reservation was for across the road at tri state wood inn. The pictures are 100% deceiving! When we went to the other location the gal that checked us in was polite. We went to our room first complaint the doorknob felt very loose and definitely a safety issue,the room was clean but severely HOT! No one bothered to get the air conditioner running to cool it down! I definitely suffered to get to sleep the first night!the 2nd day after having the air run for about 20 hrs it was cooler but we went and bought a box fan just so we could circulate the air. NO ONE was in the room to clean make the bed, replace clean towels - nothing and when I went to the office where the sign said open the office door was Locked. We will never reserve a room at this place again!"

"Do not pay attention to the pictures. Those pictures are of the hotel that burnt down. The one open using its name is trashy and run down. No heat in the rooms. no water pressure. Toilet barely functions. No smoke detectors up anywhere."

"The room we were given was in need of remodeling. The old carpet and beds smelled of stale cigarettes. Good location, walking distance to a few good restaurants. Not the worst motel I have stayed at but it was far from the best."

"If all you're looking for is a good night sleep I can recommend this place however, it is Tiny and rustic. They are in the process of renovation. There was no soap in the room and one of the lights was not working correctly, you couldn't close the door on the bathroom without hitting the bed. There was a refrigerator and a microwave but it's hidden away in a tiny little area that doesn't have any light so use a flashlight. This is not a good choice for anyone who is physically challenged. There was no ice machine. Actually they were no amenities. Javier told me he would text me a receipt but after several reminders he never did."

"It was a nice clean room. I didn't know the office didn't have "normal hotel" hours. They called to double check my arrival and had my key ready for me when I arrived. Grateful for that. After reading the reviews, I can agree with some of the quirks and cons. The baseboard heater cannot be controlled. The shower was luke warm at best. The pillows weren't the most comfortable. Weird sounds coming from the ceiling, even though there isn't an upstairs. Had to bring in an extra blanket from my car cause the ones on the bed were summer thin. Sliding screen door was tough to manage. Remote to the TV only had one battery."
