"Such horrible atmosphere for any student and teacher to pursue a job here. Kindly find other universities for better opportunities!.... Such a Tragic misfortune to befall on a former glorious institution!"

"PICK A DIFFERENT SCHOOL! If you plan on graduating in a timely manner, go to a different institution. The lack of consideration and care displayed by the teaching staff is egregious. This institution is here to take your money and nothing else. I am yet again having to postpone my expected graduation date due to the utter lack of support from the teaching staff and the DART Center. Too many of the classes I have taken here have been administered by teams of TAs which creates confusion and chaos. It is impossible to meet with an advisor in a timely manner. When the staff member you are communicating with no longer feels like assisting you, they simply stop responding to your communiques. The school is constantly spamming my inbox with irrelevant emails. They send out communications about security but it seems the only noteworthy news is of when an African American male with dreadlocks sniffs in the direction of the campus. When a teacher was arrested from school grounds for sexual deviance involving minors, nothing was said regarding the situation. I regret my initial matriculation to this school. I urge you to look elsewhere when considering an educational institution."

"Damm!! My wife got admission to this university recently, along with 2 other prestigious institutes. we were planning to pick this university out of 3, but after reading all those negative and scary reviews, I believe we have to reconsider our decision. 1. The safety issue everyone is talking about is that I can not handle any excuse. 2. Poor administration, that too we have experienced during admission process but ignored thinking high volume applications, but I guess reviews speak louder, because we are international students and will be needing a lot of prompt information in future. 3. Parking issues... 4. Professors not being cooperative. If all these points were mentioned once, I would have ignored them, but everyone is talking about it, which is a concern. All I see is that a response from the owner is very normal without any hope of resolution or customer service, as if it's a restaurant review. You guys have to be serious and take good steps for charging such a huge amount."

"PLEASE READ BEFORE GOING HERE I just graduated with a degree in electrical engineering, and I have to emphasize how unwilling many degree-wide departments are to help students. Parking has towed me from my apartment complex, I've received tickets in the campus garage that I pay for, and there's absolutely no forgiveness if you aren't familiar with each individual book of rules followed by a department. One of my advisors was so unreachable that I only know what she looks like because of a photo in a hallway. Any questions directed at the registrar always get a "you should have known better" response, and a notable lack of sympathy. The entire campus is practically student-run, which sounds fun in theory, but just shows you the totalitarian grip a sophomore can develop after sitting at a desk for long enough. This is a for-profit institution through-and-through, and there are a lot of reminders. One of which is no free parking for more than twenty minutes anywhere on campus. Not a single spot. Many times, some of the most qualified and knowledgeable professors are gridlocked because research and grants make the university money, not actually educating their students. No amount of cougar spirit and red Fridays can distract from the fact that this place is out to siphon money out of kids' pockets. Please know what you're getting yourself into, as when you enroll, there is practically nothing you can do to get your way, as there's a clear lack of accountability anywhere. It's not a matter of if you make a mistake rather than when, as there's a lot of bases to cover. Also, prepare for your inbox to be pelted with emails about absolutely anything, as the university likes to cast a wide net when advertising. This place takes some serious consideration. Two students, a month apart, jumped off of our tallest lecture building in the middle of the day. Students were walking out of class into a crime scene. The first one wasn't enough, and it wasn't until the second that UH even pretended to care about it, where they closed the building and installed fences to prevent anyone else from jumping. On safety, there's practically no investment. My apartment had a couple robbed at gunpoint at 7 PM on a weekday, and someone was shot to death in the indoor stairwell of my friend's off-campus STUDENT LIVING apartment. All UHPD does is handle freshman alcohol poisoning cases and drive around parking lots on four-wheelers. The place gets more expensive every year, with my tuition contributing over $50,000, and parking now $404.25 for the Spring 2024 semester. Go to community college for your core classes, and transfer wherever you want. I've met some great people and some genuinely incredible professors, but despite bonding like cellmates with a mutual hatred, I really can't go above one star."
