Texas Back Institute - Flower Mound is a premier spine care facility located in Flower Mound, Texas, United States. The clinic opened in 2011 and is known for its relaxed and friendly environment, as well as its commitment to providing the highest level of customer service and expertise in spine care. Conveniently situated across the street from THR Presbyterian Flower Mound hospital, the clinic is staffed with four physicians and one PA.

Dr. Stephen Richard Tolhurst, an orthopedic spine surgeon, joined the Flower Mound and Denton locations in September 2012, bringing his expertise as a Board-Eligible, Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Spine Surgeon. At Texas Back Institute, surgery is always considered a last resort, with a focus on relieving pain through conservative treatments such as physical therapy and pain management. If surgery is deemed necessary, the clinic offers evaluations for procedures such as artificial disc replacement. "I have been a patient of Dr. Rey Bosita’s for several years. His dedication to my various recoveries - cervical spine fusion, lumbar spine fusion, and typical back discomfort that comes with aging and negligent weight gain - has been unwavering. I cannot recommend Dr. Bosita highly enough, he is an outstanding physician, affectively encouraging, and a humorous and genial person. I find myself proudly and eagerly recommending Dr. Bosita to anyone who has so much as a crick in their neck; I may be ridiculous, but I’m beyond thankful for what Dr. Bosita has done for me, more than once he has given me back a quality of life to share with my young child. Until a couple of months ago, I had primarily visited Dr. Bosita at the Texas Back Institute - Plano location. I have never experienced any difficulties to speak of at the Plano office, and the professionalism of the office staff is consistent, but for my convenience I’ve begun to visit with Dr. Bosita during his office days at the TBI - Flower Mound location. This five-star review is as much for the Flower Mound office and medical staff as it is for Dr. Bosita. From the front office gals to Dr. Bosita’s dedicated nurse, the entire staff that I have encountered at the Flower Mound location goes above and beyond. The Flower Mound location of TBI has a very boutique feel, it’s a smaller office which makes the overall experience seem more personalized and familiar. The front office staff is warm and always willing to help, they will cross-delegate responsibilities just to make certain that my insurance, FMLA, and scheduling are situated in a timely and thorough manner. The office staff has been integral in helping to alleviate many of the background clerical stresses that I usually worry about when trying to balance recovery, work absences, and insurance/finances. It’s the chef’s kiss to be greeted personally and with such warmth at the Flower Mound office."

"I’ve been waiting 2 weeks to receive a call back regarding insurance authorization for a procedure. I’ve called and sent text messages. And ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in return. My back is bothering me so bad. I don’t want to start over under the care of other physicians but I’m about too. And to think, my mom recommended me to Dr. Bosita who passed me on to Dr. Patel. I’m very disappointed."

"Dr Ahn is a good doctor. The issue is the staff! It took me two weeks and four calls to get a referral for an orthopedist as Dr. Ahn wanted me to see one. Then, when the referral was sent to my primary care doctor, it did not say anything about the doctor that he wanted me to see. Just that I needed a referral to an ortho. Then, I tried to get a prescription refilled (not an opioid) and I had to call twice. His staff DOES NOT DO THEIR JOB!!"

"Saw Augustine Albright, PA on 9/19/22. She recommended I get an MRI and would write the order. I should have it by the end of that week. I left multiple phone messages and emails without any return calls. Went to their office and picked up the order on 9/30/22. Receptionist acknowledged that their system shows I left them messages. No explanation for why no one called me or why they didn't send the orders to my requested imaging location. I hand delivered the orders to Touchstone Imaging only to find out the orders were written incorrectly. Touchstone called TBI to get corrected orders and was told that I must schedule another appointment to get them corrected. I sent multiple messages to them through the portal about this. Again..... no response. Experience here couldn't have been worse."
