"I have dealt with chronic back pain for a while now but recently had an injury, for which I was referred to therapy. I was excited to get started. Unfortunately, I did need pain medication, that makes me sleepy, just to be able to function. Because of this, I needed to reschedule my appointments. Today, after my visit with the pain specialist and having an injection in my spine, I fell asleep and was hoping to reschedule. The receptionist on the phone, instead of being empathetic to my current situation and helping me reschedule, asked if I was sure I could "actually make it in" if we reschedule because the therapist have blocked off schedules for other patients etc. I was saddened by the manner she spoke to me. I understand it's a business but this therapy isn't a free service for me. I was disappointed, to say the least. I, also, work in the health field and know how there's a way to get a message delivered being mindful that the patient is going to you for service because of a need, and not just to waste our time either. I felt like I'm asking for a handout and was bothering them. Needless to say, I can't evaluate the service of their therapy cause I never got past their reception staff customer service. Lack of empathy and feeling defeated is how I can describe my engagement with XO therapy, at this time. Looking for a new therapist now."
