Hampton Inn Ottawa (Starved Rock Area)

"Terrible Stay I checked in on the app, picked out my room and then for no reason or explanation they changed my room before I arrived, what is the point of checking in on the app? I had housekeeping come by after a week, left them a tip and the barley cleaned my room. I had to go to the front desk to get clean bed sheets. I made reservations almost 4 months in advanced and then one day when I was picking up more clean sheets at the front desk they told me I had to leave. I guess they wanted to start remodeling and didn’t care if they honored anyone’s reservations. They only gave a 2 days heads up!.I was even working night shift so I had to book another hotel room at another hotel for the same day just to get some sleep and be able to check in. I’ve been using Hilton as my go to for business and leisure stays for the past 15 years, often spending over 6 months in a Hilton. To be treated like this is very unacceptable. Just because you are remodeling will not make your Hampton any better it is the people and the dysfunctional cultural that you have implemented that needs to be changed. After 15 years the “free” breakfast is still disgusting. Who wants to eat the same highly processed foods that you serve. Everything is already precooked in plastic bags, all they do it warm it up."

"Staff was very nice. Breakfast was good and person maintaining area did an amazing job. 4 star on rooms only because you could hear TV and people talking in adjoining rooms."

"We found this hotel after having a DISASTER of an experience at Fox River Resort Holiday Inn in Sheridan, IL (see my review on their google review page for details). We were pleasantly suprised when we arrived at this hotel. They honestly saved the day for our family!! We were greeted with a smile and warm welcome by Kim. She was so helpful and kind! I asked for a room with 2 queens, she got us into a room right away. They had a smooth check in process. Recieved some water and snacks for the kids. She also gave us recommendations for local activities for families. Kim, we appreciate you! They have very clean, comfortable beds. Well kept rooms. Nice warm pool for the kids and hot tub for the adults. Lots of good choices for the free continental breakfast. Helpful and kind staff. Pool open long hours and late check out made for a wonderful stay for our family. And trust me, we needed it! We are very happy with this hotel and will for sure stay again if we are in the area! We are SO thankful after the horrible experience before arriving here. I highly recommend this place!"

"I guess I got an old room because everything is incredibly outdated... Brave of them to use the word modern in their advertising.The TV is giving flashbacks to 1999. The shower won't drain, the caulk has something growing on it. The entire room is dark red and orange and beige. The pictures on the site do not match. The locks on the door look like they've seen better days. Cannot recommend. Not to mention thin walls."

"This is an absolutely swell little hotel that anyone who is looking to spend a weekend hiking in starved rock Should go to. Rooms were very clean and the air conditioning lets you go down to subarctic temperatures. Bathroom was large and the shower head had good pressure. Staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. They have free coffee in the lobby 24/7, and between me and my girlfriend we probably had about 14 or 15 cups. They simply laughed and said we were welcome to as much as we wanted. Pool was a little small and I wish it was little deeper, but it's nice to be able to take a dip. Hot tub was nice and hot Location is right off the highway and about 15 minutes east of the starved Rock Park. All in all, an excellent little hotel whose prices are still very fair"
