"The school is a joke ever since the principal changed. He is a rude, condescending jerk. Good teachers that have been there for years ....leaving because of his lack of leadership and self entitlement . Students acting wild in halls, selling drugs in restrooms. Seriously get rid of the guy already."
"one of my closest friend just graduated this last year (2016) he was able to graduate just because his past school gave him enough credits to be considered a senior. teachers letting him pass his chemistry class with a 62 . Poor kid he started off with a high 3.50 GPA and ended up graduating with a low 2.00 GPA. i was so close to applying to here put i saw they weren't teaching material but instead selling drugs in from of teachers faces, fighting with teachers, fights in front of teachers with other student, gangs, ect, ect. I hate seeing these smart and intelligent kids with top notch GPA and potential get sent here, so please student, teachers, parents get involved with this school and get this school to perform better"
"The leadership has changed and the school has no order drugs are sold in restrooms and the magnet office has the worse women in charge she harrases our kids and is dropping them from the magnet program like flies new leadership is needed"
"I graduated in 1954. it was a great school. Good teachers. Examples: Mrs. Doering, Geometry, came early to tutor me and it turned out I loved the subject. Mrs. Potter, History, was so dramatic, she would hide behind her desk to demonstrate a point in the American Revolution or back into a corner to show another. She made history exciting. The most fun was being in the Scottish Brigade. The thrill of the performance, the friendships & team work & the music. The experience gave me a lifetime of interest in all things Scottish. Other teachers were remembered fondly: Miss B. Lytle, Brigade, Mr. Johnston, my homeroom teacher, Mr. Schiller, Science, Miss Victory, Math, Mrs. Edis Haynes, English, (I still have my Grammar Hand Book) and Ms. Collins, Typing, which came in handy in college and the rest of my life including several jobs and typing my family history booklets. I also took Cooking and Art, the latter which opened up a new creativity. I wish I could have been in music class but since I had NOT had it in Junior High (in Alabama), it was closed to me. Also I had had Alabama history, but taught myself Texas history. Thank you newspaper & year book people, Mr. Goette, principal, and other school leaders."
"This is probably the greatest school in the world. Actually, probably the best in the UNIVERSE! Overall nice school, good students, and rocking administration. Austin High 4 life!"
