"New customer here. Here you get what you pay for, no question about it. Prices are not "Walmart" but the service and quality is light years ahead of any place I've patronized in over 50 years of buying food. We have purchased fine cuts of meat from just about every chain and independent meat shop within a 50 mile radius of St Louis. Not one single meat professional "butcher" has ever demonstrated the commitment to the customer and provided the superb cuts of meat Craig has done on our first three visits."

"I've lived in Hillsboro for almost 20 years and utilized the little town grocery store that is now Karsch's. I have never had any issues with this store, until today. I had a cart of groceries and a bottle of wine. My son (14) was helping me unload the cart onto the belt and one of the items he grabbed was my bottle of wine. They wanted to card him. At first I thought they were joking, but they were serious! I handed them my ID but they wouldn't take it. My wine, my ID with my face, my debit card with my name on it and they wouldn't let me purchase it because he touched it. I offered to finish my transaction, go grab a bottle of wine off the shelf and make a separate purchase and they denied me that as well. I then offered to send him out to my car. And they refused that too. I mean, he was pushing the cart too that had the bottle of wine in it! So, at what point am I allowed to purchase a bottle of wine now that they have seen my and my sons face!?!?! I have NEVER heard of this before and have NEVER had this happen to me. They have officially lost my business. I will drive the extra minutes to shop elsewhere."

"I only shop here because there’s nothing else close in Hillsboro as far as grocery stores. But 9 out of 10 times I would rather take a 20 minute trip out to schnucks or Walmart. The selection is lacking (so I never walk out with what I was looking for) and the customer service is poor too. The one time someone spoke to me was to tell me not to bring my back pack in the store (it was a reusable shopping bag!) I would be willing to forgive all this but the prices are marked up too—even on the generic items! It’s only a 2 minute drive from my house but I dislike this place so much that I’d rather go out of my way to avoid it."
