Halo Salon & Spa

"The salon is located in downtown Hinsdale. I personally have never been to this area so it can be confusing and for some reason my phone maps would bring be in the back alley. They have street meter parking available 50 cents every two hours or there is a parking garage and you would just have to walk further. If you drive or walk too fast, you may just pass up the salon, but there is a sign outside on the brick wall “Halo”. When you enter, you have to go up a flight of stairs and walk down it is the second door to the left. You will see another sign shown in my photos that says “halo”. This hallway is the “waiting” area before entry. The salon is friendly, chic and cozy! Very pleasant atmosphere, especially considering the difficult times we are all facing with the current pandemic. They are doing a outstanding job taking all of the necessary precautions with COVID. As I just mentioned, you wait in that hallway for entry into the salon because a staff member will take your temperature and they provide hand sanitizer. All staff had on mask, there was the clear shield between the cashier and customers, and all customers were sat far apart. So, this was my first time at a salon. My sister in law has been doing my hair for the last 5 years and before that I would go to a beautician that was in school. My sister in law went on maternity leave. Before I knew she was coming back, I scheduled an appointment for a consultation with Krista. I needed a touch up and was interested in having extensions done. Krista from the moment we met was very nice and welcoming. She told me what she can do for me, the process and how much it would cost. Throughout the whole process she was thoughtful, spent time listening to me and what I wanted and she matched the color of my hair to the extensions. Also, Krista was AMAZING at shampooing my hair. She gave me such a great head massage, I would literally go back for just the massage. Helping Krista was Yasmin who cut my hair. Of course getting extensions you want it to blend with your natural hair, so I was nervous, but Yasmin did a fantastic job. I like the layers she created and she told me how to brush my hair to make my natural part fall on its own. I was nervous at first and not sure if I was going to do it, but I am very happy I did!"

She was so kind and a great conversationalist, both on personal level as well as helping me gain knowledge on how to go about products for my hair and styling. "I came to Halo because of a recommendation by a friend 10 years ago because I could not find a salon in the city that had ALL GREAT people. Jen, the owner, who I met when she was just a colorist there, is a savant with color. She can look at anyone's hair and know exactly what they need to have done and she is always right! She also remembers the formula she used on you in her head!!! Not only is she a gifted artist but the products she uses in her salon are very high quality and expensive for her to use but she insists on only doing what is best for her clients. Her stylists, especially Coco and Danielle, are phenomenal and practice their artistry on the same level as Jen does with her color. Halo also offers spa services including eyelashes and makeup. I am certain you will not be disappointed at how you look at the end of your appointment. Sheila Wright"
