About the Business

The Donna Hooks Fletcher Museum, located at 129 South 8th Street in Donna, Texas, is a historical institution dedicated to preserving the rich history of the area. Named after Donna Hooks Fletcher, who transformed her inherited land into a successful produce and dairy operation, the museum showcases artifacts that tell the story of the town's past. Visitors can explore items such as the town's first telephone, a bar from the Blue Goose Saloon, and household appliances from the early 1900s. One of the highlights of the museum is the Bible that Donna Hooks Fletcher famously held while protecting her property during the turbulent times of the Mexican revolutionaries. This museum is a must-visit attraction for those interested in local history and the pioneering spirit of the early settlers.

"What a wonderful place to visit to learn about the history of Donna, TX, the heart of the Valley! My mother in law contributed the colorful paintings. So much to read and look at.....highly recommend!"

"Have to give this place 5 stars because of the passion of the lady who runs it. Obviously she has put in a lot of time and work to get the place to where it is today. Yes it's small, but the displays are nice and she will verbally fill in any gaps as well as answer any questions - VERY friendly! Thank you for your effort in keeping local history alive. Love the historic building it's located in also."
