"Very nice area for metal detecting.The area near the bird watching plaform yielded some nice finds."

"Truly a remarkable historical district. It’s designated a national historic district. Traces its roots to Spanish colonial colonists in the 1760s. Contains over 30 structures built before 1900. I’m hopeful that the city will be able to save most of the structures. It’s very sad to see that most of these beautiful historic buildings are falling into decay."

"Roma's Historic District is a fantastic step back in time. The buildings, homes, and landmarks are works of architectural art that are standing the test of time. If their walls could talk, the stories we would hear. These structures stand tall and proud; their resilience and strength speak volumes through their chapters of rusted iron, thousands of square feet of hand-hewn / molded brick walls that bear the weight of a bygone era. Be still and listen for the whispers of tired, sagging shutters as they swing and sway in the wind. The hardiness and sturdiness of multiples of wooden, double-doors that secure the contents of the time capsules they guard safely behind them are as watchmen keeping an eye on those that traverse the streets they survey. Try as I might, I could not see and photograph it all. Roma...such a treasure of history and architecture. I will be back.❤"
