Elgin Toyota Service Center

"Would not recommend going here unless you like getting scammed. Despite purchasing TWO vehicles here in the past, they still try to pull a fast one on me. Last week, they called me in for a promotion that they were running. Free $30 gift card and wiper blades. So I figured sure, why not? Lo and behold, after the service was done (which took an hour. It does not take that long to install wiper blades) they told me that I have a nail in my tire and that my marker lights were out. As well as replacing my cabin air filter. I told them that seems shady because none of those things, aside from the air filter, were present before. And they were going to charge me $200 for all of it. I got my tire repaired for free at Discount Tire and they told me that they found TWO nails on either side of my rear tire. Conveniently placed. Elgin Toyota deliberately punctured my tires with nails and possibly even fused the lightbulbs somehow to make a quick buck. Toyota is a great reputable auto brand. Don't get it twisted. Stick with Toyota, just not HELL-gin Toyota."

I bought my car from Elgin Toyota in 2012, and it is my favorite car I have ever owned. Daryll continues to make my visits to Elgin Toyota a very positive one! It is amazing to me that a man who has worked here for MANY years continues to have a very positive attitude! He is a GREAT ambassador for Elgin Toyota!"

"They put an air filter in and charged me for it when I told them not to because I did it three months prior. Didn't notice it until I got home and looked over the bill"

"My RAV4 was due for a 30,000 mile check up. I was told cost would be $905, when I questioned it Darryl (service person) immediately dropped it by $100. This made me suspicious so I checked on the Toyota site and a 30,000 mile should cost between $300 to $600. Did this dealership try to charge the higher price because I was a woman? Of the amount I finally paid $670 was for labor. That’s almost $300 an hour. The new wipers were a total of $80.00 and how do I know if they checked the floor mat!! I bought the car at this dealership ship and have always gone back. I will not go back there again. Additionally I was told it would be 1 hr 30 mins. It took over 2 hrs. No one came and advised me. For this reason I’m given Elgin Toyota ONE Star."

"I went in today for my Rav4’s maintenance after making a scheduled appointment yesterday. I went into the service center and I was relocated twice already before I could talk to a service specialist! James is a very hardworking associate and I saw him hard at work and he was the only one dealing with customers. I bought a Rav4 from Elgin Toyota in 2021 and my last no-cost service maintenance expired so I requested if they could do anything about it. Rather than answering to my request, James tried to sell me another 2 years maintenance cost service for $705 which was surely not suitable to my needs since I drive my car less than usual. Instead, I offered him a coupon which I got in the mail. He instantly switched his mood and got furious when I denied his offer. I also saw him murmuring something but I wasn’t sure why he was getting mad at me for no reason. It is my right to accept or deny any offer I receive as a customer! Staff at Elgin should understand this! In addition, I didn’t get $50 off on my first paid maintenance through Elgin Loyalty Rewards program. He turned it down by saying that I have to pay for the maintenance in order to get the discount. However, it doesn’t say on the card that the maintenance have to be paid. I am highly disappointed with the experience I received today. I think I might have to stop coming at this place going forward due to the careless service given to some customers like me!"
