"So grateful for this practice!!! I went to this practice for just shy of 20 years. My insurance switched and the dentist office was no longer in network. After speaking to the insurance company and being told I had to go in network, off I went to Dental Care at Lakemoor Commons (by Woodmans). BIG MISTAKE! They ended up doing a lot of work on my teeth, very aggressive in treatment and yet extremely conservative in the work. After many and I mean many visits to have the work done, I left Dental Care at Lakemoor Commons crying due to how painful and long the dentist trips were. I was so traumatized that I called up McHenry Smile Center right after the last session at Dental Care at Lakemoor Commons, explained through tears to Cheryl what happened and that I still had a tooth that needed a crown on (tooth was already prepped) but that I couldn’t trust Dental Care at Lakemoor Commons to finish. I would pay 100% out of pocket if Dr. Sturt could give me a 2nd opinion. Not only did Cheryl and Dr. Sturt get me in 20 min later, the office wasn’t even technically opened yet for the day! Him and Cheryl comforted me and then reviewed the work done. He gave me his opinion on what needed to be done. I asked him if he could finish the crown for me. Cheryl informed me that it wasn’t going to be much, if any, extra cost to me but that the insurance company didn’t tell me that because it costs the insurance company more money for me to go out of network (it didn’t even cost me extra in the end). I might have been gullible believing Dental Care at Lakemoor Commons that I needed the work, I actually didn’t need the work they performed, but that is because I was so used to my dentist (Dr. Sturt and his team) always doing what was best for me and not what would make them the most money. I cannot thank Dr. Sturt, Cheryl, and team enough! On a happy side note, my 4 year old still can’t stop raving about how awesome the office was decked out for Halloween!!! Absolutely incredible."

"After over a month of dealing with a work related issue and insurance difficulties, McHenry Smile Center not only scheduled me for an appointment the day after my case worker made the time to call, but also fought tooth and nail to get me an appointment with a dental surgeon that they trust. Cheryl sat me down, explained everything and called my insurance herself to make sure I got what was best for me.
