About the Business

Fort Sam Houston Community Pharmacy

Fort Sam Houston Community Pharmacy is a health institution located at 2401 Winfield Scott Road in Fort Sam Houston, Texas, United States. This pharmacy, store, and health facility has recently relocated to a new Exchange, offering customers a one-stop shopping experience for prescriptions and other needs. The new facility is 1,600 square feet larger than the previous location, providing more space for the pharmacy team to work safely and efficiently.

With eight prescription windows and a dedicated patient counseling space, the pharmacy is designed to offer a better overall experience for the JBSA community. The Community Pharmacy fills an average of 330 new prescriptions and 1,440 refills daily, totaling over 417,600 prescriptions per year. The institution also offers a convenient prescription pickup service through the ScriptCenter Express Prescription Pickup kiosk.

To ensure the safety of customers during the COVID-19 pandemic, electronic prescriptions can be processed for pick-up within one hour. New prescriptions typically take about 30 minutes to fill, while refill customers wait only about 2 minutes. The pharmacy team is dedicated to providing the best pharmacy experience for the community and looks forward to serving even more customers in their new, improved location.

"If I could give you 0 stars I would. 1. I let them know that I was an out of town reservist and I needed to fill a prescription that day (friday). I dropped the prescription off at 10am. 2. I was told that it should not have been a problem and that they will call me when the script was ready. 3. I never received a call and was not informed that the pharmacy was closed on weekends when I made sure that I let them know I was not from the area and needed the script filled immediately. 4. Monday comes and I need the script filled still so I go to fill it in my home state. They wont allow me to fill the script because they already filled it and never let me know earlier that day. I tried to call the number linked to this google search and it is not a working number. I had to call the PX, which forwarded me to BAMS Pharmacy, which then had to forward me to the correct number. 5. I never got in touch with them. I called them over 12 times and left them voicemails asking for them to call me with urgency. They never responded back to me leaving me to wait until eventually they put the script back on the shelf due to not being picked back up. 6. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL"

"One of the better military pharmacies I've been to. I think it could be streamlined more to make it faster. I should never have to wait more than 30 minutes for a script."

"This pharmacy used to be faster than the BAMC Pharmacy before migrating to MHS Genesis. Now, it's slow even for medication pick up. Seems like new staff aren't as quick compare to previous staff."
