"Im in the medical field and and I understand the importance of patient care, communication and satisfaction and the importance of the Press Ganey reports!!!! I have called 2 times and left 1 portal message regarding scheduling a procedure. First time I have EVER had a doctors office not call back in a timely manner!I have had patients in the past talk about these types of facilities but this is my first encounter as a patient dealing with this. Im frustrated and appalled that this would be allowed. I guess I should have read the reviews before I wasted my time taking off work to come up for the appointment. Dr. Dickey made me feel so comfortable and confident in the procedure and his staff have completed crushed my confidence. This system needs to be addressed and apparently needs to be done soon!"

"I love Dr. Atkins, outside of that, the front office staff is RUDE. I have called multiple times for insurance verification and told I would receive a call back to not receive a call to continue to call back to start ALL over in the process. Today, I asked the receptionist why I kept having to call/start over, and she shouted, "DO YOU WANT HELP?!" To start the conversation she asked if I was pregnant which was irrelevant to my question and none of her business anyways. I politely told her no, that I would take myself somewhere else for care. Last time I visited the office was a mess and they couldn't find my paperwork. The lady at the front desk was on her phone and gossiping about her co-worker. RUDE, unprofessional staff."

"I had to reschedule an appointment due to two family members funerals being on the same day 6 hours out of town. It has been two weeks and I still have no appointment scheduled. First time I called I was told I would receive a call within the hour. I did not receive a call until two days later and obviously missed the call (on a Friday). Monday I called back to speak to a nurse to get my appointment scheduled and even left detailed instructions to LEAVE ME A VM if I do not answer with a time of their choosing for my appointment so we can get something on the books (because they expect you to wait around all day by your phone for a call that may never come). No response. I called again on Thursday leaving the same message.. nothing. It is now Monday of the following week and I still have no appointment. I am 28 weeks and should have my glucose screening done between 26-28 weeks and still have no appointment. At this point I’m skipping the testing due to their failure to follow up. Also, the nurse who called when I missed the call left a note stating she’d left a VM… that was a lie. No VM was left. This is child number 4 for my husband and I, and by far the worst experience at an obgyn office. I also don’t like that we don’t have a set obgyn. Having a c section means you want to build a comfortable relationship with your doctor to ease your nerves during a serious surgery, this office has you seeing whoever whenever. So anyone can be performing your c section the day your scheduled. Even a male doctor, which is NOT my preference. SMH"

"I will start by saying, the doctors here are great, everything beyond that needs work. If you are looking for a family-friendly (or even friendly) office, this is not the place to be. First of all, rescheduling an ultrasound takes days to hear back, as does any other phone request. Second, the majority of people answering the phone don’t really listen to you, they just want to get you off the phone as fast as possible. I do not feel like they care about mine or my baby’s overall well-being. I just moved here from out of state, and I do not have any friends and family here. My husband is the sole provider and therefore has to work. I have two other kids to take care of, and rather than allowing me to bring my kids to the appointments, they just make me cancel. How are they going to know if me and my baby are healthy if they force me to cancel the appointments? I also asked if they could give my husband FMLA so that he can take off work during my appointments and help me when I am nauseous. They would not do that for me either. If you are a mom with more than one child, a single mother, or have a husband that needs to go to work, I would not recommend USMD. Doctors should be the one’s that care about your health the most. I would expect a women’s health doctor to understand the stresses of being a mom and make accommodations to ensure their patients are receiving the healthcare they need."
