"WARNING OWNER OF THIS LOCATION IS A SCAMMER. Attention all shoppers: beware of this Batteries Plus location in Crystal Lake! They took advantage of my wife and sold her an old, incorrect battery for our sump pump backup system. Even though she specifically requested the SLI31MDC battery, the owner/manager sold her the SLI31MDP battery instead, without being upfront about it. When I went to talk to them about the issue, the owner/manager tested the battery and said it was okay, but it was clear that it was the wrong battery for our system. It kept tripping the alarm and was not compatible with our intended use. When I called corporate, they confirmed that I was sold the wrong battery, but the owner/manager of this franchise refused to exchange it for the correct one, even though he personally made the mistake of selling my wife an old and incorrect battery. Do yourself a favor and avoid this location at all costs. Don't risk getting ripped off like we did. The "owner" replied a year later, and I had to absorb a $200 loss on the battery from my earnings. Ended up purchasing one from Ace in Wauconda. Caution: Avoid doing business with this Batteries Plus Crystal Lake IL!!!"

"I went to the store for watch battery change on may 5th at 5.45pm. When i came in there’s no one in there, then after some seconds a guy with a face that he was sleeping in the back came. He was kind of rude, quiet, behaving as I was not welcome. I’m sorry but normally i have good experience in this store. This guy need to be trained."

"The best local selection of batteries and bulbs, fair pricing, combined with really friendly and patient service (Connor helped me) means they get 5 stars! Convenient location right off Rt 14 with ample parking. I bought a motorcycle battery, an excellent LED flashlight, and a couple ear bud cable organizers (“Apple cores”). I also was able to recycle some old T-12 and T-8 fluorescent bulbs (there is a small fee), which was wonderfully convenient. I’ll rarely ever buy bulbs or batteries anywhere else in the future. Great store."
