Hopskeller Brewing Company is a popular bar, food, and restaurant located at 116 East 3rd Street in Waterloo, Illinois, United States. Our kitchen and bar are open and we are excited to welcome back our customers with some of our pre-COVID specials, including the pizza and a pitcher for $20 deal on Tuesdays. Situated in Downtown Waterloo, just minutes from the metro St. Louis area, Hopskeller is a brewery influenced by the beers of Northern England and the Pacific Northwest. Our menu features a variety of ales, including our Pale Mild Ale, Raspberry Ale, Illinois Common Ale, Northern Pale Ale, Northern English Brown Ale, and Across the Pond Hybrid IPA.
Brewed in a pre-Civil War home remodeled with reclaimed materials, Hopskeller is not just a brewery, but a gathering place for laughter, discussion, and the joy of beer with friends. Our award-winning brewers have crafted beers inspired by their travels in Europe and the American Northwest, creating a unique selection of seasonal ales and lagers.
In addition to our great beer selection, we also offer hand-mixed cocktails, a wide wine selection, wood-fired pizzas, soft baked pretzels, hot dogs, brats, salads, and other delicious food pairings. Our light lager is a crowd-pleaser, perfect for enjoying on our patio during warmer weather.
Hopskeller has been recognized with multiple awards, including the 2019 St. Louis Post-Dispatch GO! Magazine Reader’s Choice Award for Best Microbrewery and Best Restaurant with a Craft Beer Selection. We have also been honored with the 2019 St. Louis Post-Dispatch “Best of Southwestern Illinois” Reader’s Choice Award for Best Neighborhood Brewery and Best Happy Hour.

"This is THE go to place in Waterloo! The variety of beer is excellent! I’ve tried most and every single one is delicious. The staff is very attentive and nice. The pizza is fire wood and quite a variety or flavors you wouldn’t expect but all are very good in their own way. The atmosphere is amazing! You will LOVE this place! Only 30 minutes from St. Louis but so worth the drive."

"A small group of friends ventured from Saint Louis for a Friday lunch here. Wonderful atmosphere. The owner was available on premises to talk about the micro brewery. Pizza was incredibly tasty. I was not fond of having to stand at one location to place my order and another to get my drink (a soda). But this was a minor inconvenience. Bathroom was large and clean."
"We LOVED this place. It was our last stop of the night. After attempting to eat somewhere else in town (my husband ate elsewhere, I didn't because I didn't like the food) and me still being hungry we decided this was a great stop for a fresh pretzel and a fresh made wood fired pizza. Excellent choice on our part. Not only did we have a great conversation with some locals but we had a fabulous pizza and I drank some incredible brown ale. A special surprise was getting to sit outside and listen to a Bluegrass band. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars from me - it would have been spectacular to have outside wait staff but more importantly there's a spot on the patio that has stagnant, odor filled muddy water. It caused a lot of people to move from the seating and leave it open because no one wanted to smell it all evening. But the pizza & pretzel were spectacular!"
