"I love Torrid! Was pretty disappointed when I decided to go clothes shopping Sunday morning... All the other clothing shops (Maurice's, Old Navy, Lane Bryant) that surround this store open at 10: or 11 am, but Torrid doesn't open till noon on Sunday, according to their locked door. However, Google says they open at 11am! It's a shame that you lose out on customers who are primed to shop. UPDATE lowered to one star.. I purchase an expensive Blazer at another Torrid, And The McHenry store would only allow me to return it for store credit. I got in my car, called The store where I originally made my purchase, and they told me they had no problem giving me a refund. So going forward , I will drive an extra 30 minutes to go to a different Torrid rather than return to this one."

"The reviews about the employees are just wrong.. they were very welcoming and nice. I was trying on shoes for homecoming and she was giving me compliments and was overall very sweet. It’s a nice store and I definitely recommend it. As to all the people having issues with returning things, maybe buy stuff you want to keep? Lol"

"I am an avid Torrid shopper. I frequent this location as well, as others and shop online. The service of the McHenry location has been on the decline for years. I always have looked past it because I like the quality of the clothes. Today however I had an incident that may make me not return to the store or even support Torrid further. I am in the store and purchase an item. Then I ask the girl checking me out if they price match the online prices. At this point the sale is complete. She says they can but I would have had to do it before checking out. So I ask about exchanging the item for the lesser price. The manager comes over and says something about no they can't do that because of how the receipt runs in the system. So I left the store, I then turned and when back in to just return the item...I was told no, I can't return the item because their system won't have the receipt of purchase processed for 24 hours. I left very frustrated. Number 1 that is the worst possible policy. So you mean to tell me if they made an error and rang something up twice and I catch it after I check out, they can't correct it for 24 hours? I find that hard to believe. Number 2 I called another store and was told the information I was given by the always unpleasant manager in McHenry was a LIE!! So needless to say, trying to scam your customers doesn't gain you any. Similarly to the other reviews I echo that management here is poor and I will no longer be shopping there."

"The worst experience of my life! This location’s manager was so rude and it make me feel so embarrassed when I was trying to return something. I asked her if would be able to fit me to find my correct bra size and she make measure myself and when I tried to ask her to help me find something for an event she refused stating that it was “too late” and they were about to close in five minutes when there were people in the fitting rooms and after I left there were people walking in the store. I left feeling so embarrassed like if I was asking for too much!! Never going back to this location again."
