City Vista Apartments

"I have lived in this apartment for the last 1.5 years. At first it was great. Now all of the basic necessities are failing. Within the past two weeks we have water outages everyday. This is extremely inconvenient because it happens in the morning when people are getting ready to work. The package lockers do not work and we are not notified when packages are received. For the past 9 months the external doors into the complex are not working. We have had too many break ins to count due to the external doors not working. The management company has not taken any action, we just get saying they are working on the security with no actual progress. Instead of fixing these items the management company has undertaken many cosmetic upgrades that do not improve any of these issues. The construction company is rude to residents and leaves a mess everywhere. It is an extreme inconvenience. They tried to get us to sign an addendum that gave away all our rights as renters. There are many other issues but the bottom line is do not live here. Update: my catalytic converter got stolen"

"I lived here for two years, starting with AMLI management. During those two years, my wheels and tires were stolen three times from my car in the parking garage which caused significant damage to my car due to being left on bricks, and also left me without a car for weeks at a time. My insurance rates skyrocketed. The garage gate is constantly broken, and there is no actual enforcement of anything by security. At times, there were 5 cars hit in a single night. The community was MUCH worse after unnecessary renovations began. The construction was extremely loud and disruptive, all amenities were closed including pools, the gym, lobby/conference spaces. I felt the quality of the work was also poor, particularly for the painting/enclosing of the hallways and exterior. They didn’t prep the surfaces before painting on/around balconies and paint was already chipping on the exterior within weeks of the job. I understand wanting to update the community, but management showed ZERO care for existing residents during these renovations. Very many people were left feeling unsafe and unhappy. We also had repeat issues with our AC breaking and the repairs from maintenance were not adequate. They refused to look for the actual problem for a very long time, causing us to resubmit tickets frequently. I would not recommend living here, I’m so glad that I moved out."

"It’s just been not a fun experience. I think my personal apartment unit is great. All of my appliances work well. Reliable AC year round. The maintenance staff are very reliable and quick to respond to work orders and have always fixed things when they come up. The location is great. Super close to Buffalo Bayou so that’s really awesome. But the complex as whole has been a problem. The gates to drive in are constantly broken. It’s a coin flip for if either of the elevators work in the garage. The walk in gates by the sidewalk are all broken and get propped open with rocks most of the time to get back in. The fire alarm….the fire alarm…I’ve never experienced a place that has spurious fire alarms as much as this apartment complex. I don’t understand. There’s seems to be still a lot of renovations/remodels as well so keep that in mind. It’s really expensive to rent for a one bedroom so I think I would wait until all of the construction has been finished and see if the reviews/experience living here improves before locking this place in."

"When our movers arrived, as our protocol, we get in contact with personnel who has verified our insurance and time of movement. Kristen did an EXCELLENT job while meeting with the movers and their resident. The job went smoothly. We did have quite a walk but that is a common theme with mid-rise apartments of such. Our client expressed how excited he was to be moving into the City Vista apartments. One word I will use is "accommodating" to describe our time there."

"The complex is in the process of renovations. Can be a little hectic at times but working Ray, she made my experience stellar. I was very appreciative of the timely updates about my application and the process……3 weeks in and I am enjoying my apartment. I haven’t experienced any of the gate issues since I’ve been here and it’s a pretty quite community. Last few nights I have seen security at the entrance of the parking garage so I’m happy about that. Overall I think the new management team are making necessary changes for the better."
