"Have been living here for the past year and my apartment has had mold for half of the time. They keep saying they’ll fix and never did. Yet they want rent payment as soon as possible. My sink hasn’t worked either. I had to spend money on hotels and other stuff just because they can’t take care of the problem. They kept saying the part was delayed but I’m sure they never even ordered it. Their was also a baby in the apartment and we can’t stay they because of the mold they offer no type of discount for rent."

AVOID THIS PLACE Edit: Why are you guys responding to my review but you won’t respond to any of my phone calls?? Is it because you care more about maintaining a false public image than you do about providing fair & honest customer service?? If you’re going to be rude and ignore my phone calls, fine. But don’t respond to my review trying to make it seem like you care about my concerns when you clearly don’t! Have some integrity!"

"When I toured the apartment, I spotted several roaches in the kitchen as well as in the bedroom! The floors smelled like cheap tobacco and mildew! I also heard gunshots as I was leaving! To be perfectly honest, I wouldn’t even let my DOG live here! Read the reviews & inspect the apartment carefully before you move here!"

"By far the WORST experience Ive ever had applying for an apartment. I’m currently moving from out of state & saw these apartments and decided to submit an application. As requested, I sent in my ID, and 2 checkstubs, which were all up to date, along with my rental history. I wait for 4 days with no follow up call or email before I decide to call the leasing office and asked for a status update on my application & the person I spoke with (Ieda) informed me that my application wasn’t done processing because they needed 3 checkstubs, not 2. And she also requested a copy of my social security card. Even though this is not what she previously requested & I didn’t understand why she wouldn’t call me back to tell me this instead of waiting several days for me to call her for an update, I sent the requested documents and waited a few more days. I eventually called when I didn’t hear back from them. They told me they were waiting for a callback from the apartment complex I previously lived at to verify my rental history. I immediately thought to myself “Shouldn’t they have already done this several days ago, when I first submitted my application?” Mind you, I was initially told this application would only take 1-2 days to process but it’s been 2 weeks and I STILL don’t have an update. I waited a few more days and when I didn’t hear back from them, I decided to call the leasing office at my previous apartment complex, using the same number I put on my rental application and asked if anybody from the Sophia apartments tried to contact them and they told me no… So I called the Sophia again asking them why I still haven’t received an update & the receptionist just says that the manger (Maria) is not there and she can’t help me. It doesn’t matter what time of day I call, for some reason, the manager is NEVER there! I called yesterday and was told that I should have an answer by the end of the day but nobody ever called me back! I called again today (Friday) at 11am and was told the manager would not be back in the office until Monday!! So who is supposed to be processing my application???? I spoke to the receptionist (Ieda) & she said they were still waiting for a callback from my previous apartments, & I told her I already spoke to the manager at my last apartments and he confirmed he had not been contacted by the Sophia! Then she puts me on hold for 10 minutes! When she came back to the phone she said the application is still pending because they needed another form of I.d. Not because of rental verification……Mind you, I already sent them a copy of my drivers license, a tax return & my social security weeks ago & I’ve been calling almost every single day for an update. So why wait almost 3 weeks to tell me you need another form of I.d. ???! These people have been dragging their feet for weeks! A simple rental application should never take this long! This process has been very frustrating and drawn out. I submitted all the information they asked for & yet every time I call for an update, they have a different excuse as to why they haven’t approved or denied it. At first they said they couldn’t find the email with my checkstubs and I.d. Then when I resent it, they waited several days to tell me they needed me to send several more copies of my checkstubs along with other forms of i.d..then they tried to say they can’t get in contact with the leasing office at my previous apartment but when I called the number listed on the apartment website, they answered right away! I’m going to take all of this as a sign that I should not move here. If the management is this unprofessional with their potential residents , then I can only imagine how bad it is to actually live here! I will also be disputing the application fee with my bank since they refuse to give me any real status update. If you’re thinking about applying for an apartment here, don’t waste your time."

"The only reason I’m giving this two stars, it’s because the apartment is actually pretty nice, and the location of my apartment was nice. But, I do not recommend living here. The office staff is rude, and disrespectful, and they hardly ever return your calls. I’ll start with the electricity issue, in the middle of summer, I was without power for 48 hours, all because Yolanda decided that she wasn’t going to take the proper precautions, to make sure that I had power, so that my cat and I didn’t have to Survive an 85° weather inside of my apartment. If you’re from Texas, you know the summers are absolutely awful, and when it says 85, it’s a lot hotter, because of Texas heat. The reason that I say that she didn’t take the proper precautions, is because when I called the office to discuss what was happening, they told me it was my fault, and that I needed to contact my energy provider. Which I did, they told me my account was in good standing, that I had paid my bill, and that they would talk to the apartment complex. after going back-and-forth with the office all day, and part of the next Yolanda finally told Maria, to go ahead and call an electrician, to go ahead and see what the problem was, the electrician came out, and told them that it was actually the meter was broken, and that’s why I wasn’t having power, so it was their fault. We called Centerpoint energy, to come fix the issue. As far as the maintenance goes, one of the guys is really nice, the other one, not so much. They’ve come into my apartment unannounced multiple times, as well as they’ve stolen door knobs off of my door, before I even moved out. When questioning the office about this, the only explanation I received was, they needed them. OK, you could also go to Home Depot, and buy door knobs for super cheap, so why are you stealing mine? But, anyway.. They’ve also changed the water pressure of my toilet, so I was having problems flushing. They stopped coming out to fix it, and told me that I needed to stop putting toilet paper in the toilet, which I mean there’s a reason they call it TOILET PAPER… but ya know. Also, the parking situation is horrible, they have towed my friends vehicles even if they parked in visitors parking. I’ve also had a man try to sell cocaine to me, that I had to call the cops. Because he was trying to get in my car and wouldn’t leave me alone… I get it’s not the apartments Fault about this part, but what is their fault, is the gates, they were always open, never working properly. And I mean NEVER. I was paying almost $900 a month, to not feel safe or secure inside of the complex. Also, if you are queer, do not stay here, the day after I put up my pride, decorations , In June, they called me to get upset with me about a skeleton I had hanging on my porch, but I had hanging up since October, which was never a problem, until the day after I put up My pride decorations. I got told that I wasn’t allowed to have any thing hanging on the outside of My patio, like no rainbow, flags, and when they Came to paint my door, the maintenance man threw my decorations on the floor in my apartment, messing one of them up. But, there were people in the complex, that had their sports flags out, When trying to talk to Yolanda about all of this, she scheduled a meeting and said that she would like to sit down and talk about all of my concerns. When I showed up for the meeting, they told me she wasn’t in the office, and that she was at a doctors appointment, which understandable. But, when I asked Maria for her phone number to talk to her, they denied me having it, and then she got an attitude with me about a week later, when she called, and asked why I was asking for her number. I told her it was because, she missed our meeting, and I wanted to talk to her. She got upset with me, so I decided that, since nothing was going to be resolved, and since I was about to move out. I am writing the review, to show the truth about this apartment complex, and hopefully help people to never stay here."
