Morgan Manor Apartments

"Do not, I repeat, do not tell anyone about this lovely beautiful place. Just don’t. No one speaks of it. If everyone knew about it, they would want to live here, and the rents would go up. So hush. If you lived here, you could walk to Wholefoods, Starbucks, CVS, 2 dry cleaners, a bowling alley, a Jack in the Box and nice restaurants, if you lived there, and liked to walk. It has had the same management for years, they take pride in their jobs. Has security access gates that WORK. It is a 2 story community, has washer and dryer available outside downstairs, easy to get to and no dark shadows or dark corners to worry about. Everything is well lit. I would live there except there is no place to park my horse. Yes horse. They do not offer a stable for my horse, and that quite frankly, is a deal killer. They have maintenance that cares. The parking lot is cozy, but it works. Pet policy: no tigers, lions, or bears. Not sure about dogs or those other furry 4 legged creatures that use litter boxes and think that they own the world. The more I think about this, the more I think that no one should ever mention this place to anyone else. Google maps should just delete it. I desperately want to tell you that it quiet, but I can’t, not that it is not very quiet, but if the word got out that it was quiet, people would be lined up down the block to rent there. It has a very few efficiencies, mostly it has one and 2 bedrooms. It is on the number 2 bus line. Please, not a word to any one. Let’s keep this one a secret for ourselves."

"I actually loved living here. This is a hidden gem that served as a home for me and my son for about a year and half. Very peaceful and in a perfect area. The place is old, and comes with its short comings for sure, but we felt safe and he got to attend an awesome school which drew me to this location. It’s considerably cheap for the neighborhood, but still pricy for the size of the unit. We stayed in a one bedroom unit. Overall it was a nice experience, kind of quirky, kinda or old, but I didn’t mind. Me and my son will always love and miss that place and neighborhood. If you don’t mind dealing with an older apartment, foundation issues, some minor maintenance issues, but love location, good schools, and a nice neighborhood this is the place for you!"

"I'd like to share my brief experience with Morgan Manor. Their office is located about 10 miles away at Sharpstown Park Apartments. They offered me a 1-bedroom apartment at Morgan Manor for $1000/month, higher than I expected but I agreed. The pool was nasty and brown, and they never let me view inside the unit, but that's ok. I signed the contract with a move-in date of 11/28/2015. Signed. Handshake. Checks delivered. Everything. I get a call on my way home. "Two things you need to know. The last tenant died in that unit." That's ok. How did he die? "He blew his brains out all over the wall. We've been cleaning it up for 3 months." Ok... sorry to hear that. What's the 2nd thing? "You have to move in by 11/01/2015." But we already signed for 11/28. "Sorry, no exceptions here." So I drove back to Sharpstown, ripped up the application and the checks, and selected a different apartment. It might be a nice place to live, but I'll never be a judge of that because they screwed me over."
