Super 8 by Wyndham Canton IL

"Worst stay I can remember and I stay in a lot of mid priced hotels, usually (once or twice most weeks) with work. Way overpriced and very disappointing. Things have to be pretty bad in order for me to complain to someone and I rarely write reviews. There were so many problems with this stay I had to actually make a list. Some of these issues are big and some may seem little but when you rely on these stays to get work done and recharge for the next tough day they can have an impact. The first thing I noticed was a funky odor and the room was old, outdated and not very clean with gross film on the mirrors and windows. . No big deal I’ve had this in different hotels. But the second thing I noticed was the toilet did not flush. And of course this was learned after the fact. The next thing I noticed when I went to start my work was there was no desk. There was an office chair and an empty spot but no desk. I called the front desk and was told “people broke it and we took it out”. ( when checking in I was told there were no other rooms so I did not ask to be moved.) So I decided to take a shower instead of starting on my work only to find there was no water pressure. As I said I have stayed in a lot of hotels and seen low water pressure many times but nothing this extreme. It was very difficult to take a shower with such little water. When I went to plug in my phone to charge overnight I learned the only available outlet was way too far away to reach either bedside nightstand. I like to read in bed but the lamps above the nightstands did not work. And none of the wall switches operated them. They were also no convenient outlets to charge the things I needed to for work. After getting to sleep on the noisy crinkly bed the in wall furnace kicked in sounding like a car crash. Every couple of hours it would start to make a very traumatic screeching noise waking me every time. I had requested a wake up call for 5 AM but called later to change it to 7 AM because my plans changed. My wake up call came at 10 minutes before 6 AM. When I got out of there to leave I was informed there was no breakfast today. This would have been nice to know ahead of time. Like I said I don’t normally complain but I did talk to the manager when leaving. He became confrontational and angry after making excuse after excuse. He did offer me a free stay which I thought was funny. I told him to keep it."

"Good experience. Towels and sheets were changed nicely overnight without problem, and the rooms were very clean. The shower head was very messed up so the shower had low water pressure and made it a little less than ideal to use. But fine place for the value."

"I stayed in one of the newly remodeled rooms. I love the decor they chose from the bedding to the carpet. The room was quite spacious and had a flat screen mounted on the wall, instead of the usual sitting on a dresser. Bed was comfortable and pillows were ample. I would stay here again."

"Pretty good and economic choice. Beds are comfy, blankets warm, 4 pillows a bed and newly remodeled. The heater works great, extra seating, no stains. Bathroom is ok, shower drain's a bit dated and worn. Breakfast was great, loved the waffle mix. Everything looks pretty new and wiped down well. Good television. Only complaint is that the garbage bins didn't have bags in them, but that is so minor. Totally worth staying here if you're uncertain."

"Value for Money Hotel in Canton Area. It is a beautiful hotel while we enter into the city of Canton, Illinois. We have stayed here for almost two weeks and really enjoyed this motel. 100% Non-Smoking Property in the town. Morning breakfast is tasty. Our room included a coffee maker, microwave, and small refrigerator"
