"The house was okay, but anytime we had a problem it took 2 months for them to actually get around to doing anything about it. They were very rude to both me and my wife. It has been 3 months since I moved out I still haven't received the deposit and we just got bills from the electric and water company for 3 months of us not living there."
"So first off the house was falling apart. Extra cleaning bill taken out even though we spent days making sure it was perfect. The first lady, Mel I believe, you meet in the office is rude as all heck no matter how much you smile and try to be kind. Not all of the staff are bad but the few that done care at all made it hard to trust the company. They fixed what was wrong in a OK amount of time but not really well. They let us move into a dirty home no doubt after charging a cleaning bill as they did us. When you rent in a place like Clovis this is what to expect from every rental place however I'm neutral on using these guys ever again. On one hand they kinda cared to help on the other we were scum to them in the end. Even their comments to bad reviews are untasteful, condescending, and obviously never admitting to fault. BAD customer service here but they get away with it because Clovis is over run with rentals and customers with barley any choice but to rent. Why improve something as tedious as customer service when renting is a need not a choice. Every rental place has seem to take on this way of thinking. UPDATE: I had a service dog and got charged almost $200 dollars for a dog fee (dogs weren't allowed in these apartments) also they lied on what was wrong with the apartment to justify stealing money for us. seeing as what they wrote they needed to charge me for was already there when we moved in. we ended up owing them money. what a horrible company. no wonder your only at a 2 Rating. that's what y'all deserve. we cleaned the carpets with a professional carpet cleaner and got charged a cleaning fee plus carpet cleaning fee. IT WAS A $130 CARPET CLEANING AND A $200 CLEANING. I spent 8 hours cleaning that place so i could get my deposit back. i professionally cleaned at hospitals so i know how to clean and that's what they did to us. Its what they'll do to you. Dont do it."
"The place was okay. At the time I needed an apartment, and I couldn't afford 1200+, but couldn't put up with the water damage, lack of stability, and run down homes renting put at 500ish a month. The location I chose was the only apartment in Clovis I had checked, out of 16, that did not have visual water damage. So I choose it. Right off the bat, neither of the toilets wpuld flush right. Without anything in it it would flush fine, but one toilet paper then it would back up. Luckily, I put in the order and within a day or two, somebody had cane and fixed it. I had the same problem with the HVAC. It fauled on me 3 times. The first time, they came and fixed it I had to deploy a couple days later. When I got back, it was broke again. So after about 2 weeks somebody else came out and replaced the compressor. That worked for about a week and another guy had to come out and fix it again. Overall, the timeliness wasn't bad, but combine these problems with the other small complaints and you paint a picture of a firm that doesn't take care of their properties until a tenant lives there and they are legally liable to fix certain things. I had two outlets alongside a single wall that didn't work. Although I told them I didn't mind it too much, I was half expecting them to get it fixed. Nails were left in the wall from the previous tenant, which I didn't really mind, except they told me the policy was to remove them or you have to pay part of your deposit to them. If that is the case, why didn't they use that money to get the place fixed before the offered it out to me? Two of the windows had a drilled hole leading from the inside to the outside. Regardless of high energy bills, it covered the inside of the apartment with dust before I bough curtains to cover it up. One window panel was lose in the frame and could be moved back and forth letting in cold air easily. The carpet didn't mesh into the tile where a border split it. And probably due to that, a large chunk of the carpet was damaged with half of the fabric missing from the mesh template. While I was deployed, I came back to a flooded apartment where the water heater piping had broken and water leaked in through the garage and into the carpet. I had fungus growing all over the living room. Although this was handled right away, I felt as if I were blamed for the incident by the way I was addressed by the personnel. Mind you, I was gone for 3 months when the incident happened. Apparently, it is mandatory, whether you clean or not that they take 130 back from your deposit to have the apartment professionally cleaned. However when I got in there, the place was covered in dirt and dust, and to add insult to energy, there was a half empty energy drink left in one of the laundry cabinets with other trash. Clearly an indicator that they pocket the money and don't use it to prepare the apartment for upcoming new tenants. We broke our lease using the SCRA due to a deployment and are happy paying the next rent payment as required by law, but when I left them a copy of my orders they wouldn't even take it from my hands. I had to leave the copy on the desk. They were too busy being upset that I no longer needed their service to address me properly. With the exception of the secretary, she was really nice. According to the law, I am obligated the next 30 day payment but was bullied by the broker who was trying to condemn me for not giving her 30 days notice. Using my orders to break the lease is the 30 days notice considering I am still paying the next months rent. Overall, better than Cathy Corn. Probably one of the best you can rent from in Clovis, but I would like to see some better management. Perhaps one that values customer service a little more and pro-actively fixes their properties instead waiting for everything to break. I would still recommend them to use, but be careful of the property listings. If it is cheaper, it is cheaper for a reason."
"DO NOT PICK THESE APARTMENTS! In the short 4 months we lived there NOTHING was fixed. 1. The porch light was out, the door bell was disconnected, the overhead stove light was out and bedroom closet light was out. No one ever came to fix it. This is what was presented upon moving in. 2. The grounds are disgusting. Trash everywhere! 3. Dryer squeeked loudly called multiple time to have fixed but no one ever came. 4. I wanted to install an extra lock on the door for added safety since it came with 1 cheap lock and was told landlord would do that. Ok great but then we ware slapped with a bill that was never mentioned to me until I went to pay out rent. 5. The receptionist is very rude. 6. Majority of the bottom cabinets are off balance leaving about an 1.5 inch gap at the top 7. Blinds that are there look like they been there since being built. 8. Their method for removing snow from the parking lot and ice from stairs are hilarous. We were once showed in our apt for 3 days because the parking lot was still covered in snow. I ended up digging my self out and following tracks made by our neighbor with a truck. The stairs just have salt thrown on them, which does nothing. I am pregnant and have almost fallen on multiple occasions. 9. When my husband and I PCS'd overseas we had so much trouble out of them over our deposit. We we were charged 80 dollars for a self cleaning oven to be cleaned. We would have cleaned it ourselves but we had no idea how. No manual was there, no cleaning stuff specifically for the oven ZIP. 10. Save your money and go somewhere worth 800 bucks a month. Woudnt recommend to anyone."
"We rented a place with Southwest Real Estate for a period of about 6 months. We had nothing but issues from the day we moved in. First off, we had set up with them to move in on a Friday, because we would have the weekend to set up everything in the house before going back to work. When we arrived in the afternoon with two trucks worth of stuff, there were repairmen ripping up the bathroom and laying down new material and the carpets were not cleaned (covered in dog hair). We were told that we could move in the next Monday instead to give them time to finish everything, even though we were told the place was ready. Yeah, sure, we'll just get a hotel and leave all our belongings in the back of the vehicles... We ended up getting the go ahead to move in on the scheduled time, with the knowledge that they wouldn't be cleaning the rugs. Yet again, something we could deal with. So after we move in we start the checklist of things that are wrong. We ended up with an entire sheets worth of things that needed attention, from doors having been smashed in, holes in the walls, ceilings falling down, windows missing, blinds broken, and worst of all, dog hair and scratches everywhere, even though the company doesn't allow pets. (The previous tenants not fulling the terms of their contract) We sent in the list of things that would need to be fixed to make the place decent looking and comfortable, only to be told that none of these things would be taken care of because the owner didn't care enough to maintain them. They were ok with walls and ceilings slowly falling apart and the building missing half the windows/screens, as long as they received their (relatively high) rent for the low class place. To get to the point of it all, we had to jump through hoops to get them to fix anything on the inside of the building, it took them at least a week to fix anything that we would deem important (such as doors leaking from the rain), and they never cleaned the rugs even after we had them put down in writing that they were going to do so at a later time. When we moved out, they tried to keep almost 100 dollars of our deposit for not "professionally" cleaning the carpet, even though it was in much better shape after we vacuumed the mounds of pet hair out of the apartment, and they charged a 30 dollar "cleaning" fee even though the place was spotless when we left. The best part of this long story, however, is when we went in to ask them to fix parts of the building, they asked us if we would like to break our contract (after only being in it for a month) because they would be able to easily rent the place out to someone else. Thanks, you don't want to fix things and you showed us how little you care by saying you can just leave and we'll make someone else deal with it. Crappy customer relations, terrible maintenance on the buildings, and quite frankly, it wasn't worth the hundreds of dollars a month that we were giving them for a place that was 40+ years old and falling apart."
