"Dr ramirez is wonderful takes the time to listen to you. As for some doctors there rushing you out the door."

"Receptionist was extremely rude. I inquired for a same day appointment, and she started listing reasons why i could not book an appointment beginning with "1. We are not an urgent care". Perhaps future patients will get past the receptionist if they ask for the next appointment instead of a preferred day. Take note."

"I have been a patient of Melodye’s for years. I have never had an issue getting a quick appointment or a referral when needed. She listens and gives me as much attention as I need during appointments. I have always had quick response times when needing blood work or med refills. Definitely recommend this office!"

"I hate to be such a negative Nancy, but I feel this has to be said. I personally do not recommend this clinic. Melodye was kind and i felt (for the most part) listened to. However I had to beg to have my hormone levels checked because (me, knowing my body) knew something wasn't right. Every time I asked, she denied, stating that it wasn't necessary. Other than that, she was very kind. Dr. Ramirez, however, I don't feel as good-natured towards. I had had a cough for over a year, due to chronic sinusitis. Even after sinus surgeries, things started getting really bad with my breathing. My ENT stated I needed to work with my PCP to get my respiratory issues under control. I scheduled an appointment for a Wednesday morning. I got a call the day before stating I would need to reschedule due to my provider being out. Okay, I could wait an extra day or so. The receptionist told me the soonest I could get in was the NEXT Thursday (eight days after my initial appointment). I told her absolutely not, because the appointment was for my breathing, and that I could not wait eight more days. She stated "okay. We close early on Fridays though...alright I can squeeze you in at 11am on Friday." Friday comes around. Dr. Ramirez was in the room maybe a total of five minutes. He listened to my chest. I told him something was wrong because my cough was getting worse and I felt awful. He told me it sounded like I was "on the verge of having pneumonia." He prescribed antibiotics and sent me on my way. No orders to get get an x-ray to double check. Nope, just the antibiotics. Less than 24 hours later I am in the hospital in full respiratory failure; my blood was acidic, & I almost had to be intubated. I had pneumonia in BOTH LUNGS. I was in the ICU for days. I understand Drs are people too and make mistakes, it is the next chain of events that really have me questioning this practice's ethics. It gets worse, my friends. The ICU staff were trying to help me see an outpatient pulmonologist ASAP once I was discharged from the hospital. My insurance requires a referral from my PCP to see a specialist. The pulmonologist sent an urgent referral request to Dr. Ramirez on Monday afternoon, as the pulmonologist scheduled my appointment for the upcoming Thursday. I called them Monday, Tuesday, AND Wednesday, leaving voicemails begging for someone to send the referral, explaining that I was in the ICU; I didn't want to pay $250 out of pocket, when my co-pay is $40. No one returned my calls, and we were stuck paying another $250 out of pocket to see the pulmonologist... on top of the tremendous ICU bill that was looming over us. The FOLLOWING Monday (after the pulmonology appointment) I get a call from Wimberley Med Clinic. They were calling to schedule an appointment so they could send the referral. WHAT? I told her that my initial appointment was a week ago, and asked why they never sent it over. She said it is required to be seen in person for referral to be sent over. I explained i was in the ICU FOR DAYS, and could not physically go into the office. She told me it was my insurance policy that requires to be seen. So, I scheduled an appointment. The appointment was pointless BTW. He didn't do any extra checkups or care plans. He just asked happened. It took everything in my husband to stay calm. Dr. Ramirez's assistant assured me she would try to back-date the referral so we could get a refund form the pulm office. After the appointment, I called my insurance. I asked the insurance rep if my PCP office tried to backdate anything. He said no. I also asked the rep if it was required to be seen in person for a referral to be sent to a specialist. He said NO- it is the individual doctor office's policy. Might I add, Melodye has sent over referrals over the phone before. I had to file an appeal for my initial pulm appointment not being covered, explaining what my PCP office did. Thank the lord they approved it and I got my initial pulmonology appointment covered. Even the insurance rep said it would probably be best to switch my PCP. I did."

"If I could of left no stars, I would of. I've been going to Wimberley Medical clinic for nearly 2 years and I'm worse off than when I started going there! They NEVER call you back, I know of at least 6 or 7 times I would call nd leave messages needing information about my medication that could of been detrimental if I took it wrong and I would call on a Friday morning leaving a message asking to please call me back, and I have to call THEM back on Monday! Having to wait 3 days to get the information I needed! On another occasion, it took 3 1/2 months to get results from blood test done , even then I had to call them! If I had to do it all over again, I would of never gone in the first place! Probably be a lot better off! How in the HELL they have been voted best medical office of the year in WimberleyI have no idea! Must be their own employees voting! FIND A DIFFERENT DOCTOR!!!"
