"Although a colonoscopy is not on anyone’s most favorite thing to do list, when the time comes for you to schedule an appointment I highly recommend the folks at Lone Star Endoscopy to ‘get to the bottom’ of it. Everyone is very nice and greets you with their name and what their role is for the procedure and all know and are very empathetic to how you’re feeling (me: starving) having just finished the ‘prep’ portion of the procedure. Dr. Patel was exceptionally good at describing my results and answering all my questions. Overall a good experience as such things go."

"I visited Lone Star Endoscopy in Flower Mound for a colonoscopy in December, under the impression it would be fully covered as a screening by my insurance. However, I was unexpectedly informed on the day that it was considered diagnostic, leading to an unforeseen cost of around $4000. Despite multiple interactions via phone and email prior to the appointment, they had ample opportunities to communicate the nature of the test and its financial implications, yet failed to do so. The preparation for a colonoscopy is notoriously challenging, and I had completed all the necessary steps under the assumption of certain financial conditions. Discovering such a crucial financial detail on the day of the procedure left me in a difficult position, especially given the physical and mental state one is in after the preparation process. Even when I attempted to clarify this with the front office and nurses—stressing that I was unaware it would be diagnostic—my concerns were not adequately addressed. Had I been informed about the cost beforehand, I would have opted to postpone the procedure to January, aligning the expense with my insurance deductible for the new year. This lack of communication regarding significant billing details was disappointing and underscores the need for greater transparency and proactive communication in healthcare settings. Now I’m left with trying to renegotiate the cost after the fact."

"What an awesome surprise!!! This was my first colonoscopy and I am glad that I chose Lone Star Endoscopy and Dr. Mehta. It sounds crazy, but it was a rather pleasant experience. Upon arrival, the check-in process is performed electronically (I love technology). The receptionist was very cheerful. When taken back for my prep for the procedure, Devonee was amazing! Her sweet personality and kindness kept all anxiety away. Oh, I also love that the "hospital gown" they provide.....has been in the warmer, so it is nice and toasty when you put it on! How cool is that?!?! Anyway, Devonee had this fabulous way of getting the medical information she needed, but also showing how she sees you as a person by getting to know you. It's as if you just made a new friend. Devonee informed me of the names and titles of each person I would see and let me know they would stop by to see me before the procedure. Dr. Mehta stopped by and asked if I had any questions. He gave me the impressions that he was willing to take the time to answer any and all questions, but I didn't have any :) Holly, Jamie, Christel, and Lilly each stopped by to introduce themselves and see if I had any question or needed anything. Monica (the Anesthesiologist) stopped by, introduced herself and asked if I had any questions. She was super friendly and a pleasure to speak with. All in all, staff truly presents as a team who is there for you. They don't rush you, they don't treat you like a number, and they all are amazing in their own way. This facility, Dr. Mehta, and the staff all receive a high recommendation from me. Also, thank you to Dr. Raul Villalon for the referral to Dr. Mehta and Lone Star Endoscopy."
