"I am very pleased with Dr Jamal and her staff. When I first made my appointment over the phone, the staff was very courteous and helpful. After I had set up an appointment , they sent me a link to a portal, where I created an account and filled out new patient information. Very smooth process. The day of my appointment, the check-in process went very smoothly, and all of the staff was very courteous. Dr. Jamal was very thorough during my first visit, listened well, and gave me good advice and feedback. I’m very happy with my experience with Dr Jamal!"

"I've only had two appointments with this doctor so far but would like to mention a few things. I read the review that said things were chaotic; however, that was not the impression I got on either of my visits or during phone calls. I know the practice recently moved to a new office so it's possible the disruption of moving could have contributed to the writer's impression, although I can't say for sure. Also, I was called sweetie by one or two of the staff, but having worked in a hospital for eight years that doesn't bother me. It's because when I observed hospital employees saying that (whether doctors, nurses, medical assistants, radiology techs, registrars, etc.), invariably their demeanor was patient, pleasant, and kind, as well as professional in their services, and they were trying to put patients at ease. They were not being condescending or in any way sexist. At the doctor's office where I was a patient before this one, the doctor and one of her staff were nice, but two employees were curt, unsmiling, and not happy to assist, which is uncalled for when it's not just a case of someone having a bad day but rather during every encounter. By contrast, everyone I've encountered at Dr. Jamal's so far has been pleasant, helpful, and kind every time, including the doctor, her PA, and all the rest of the staff. Any time I've spoken to Christina and Diana I've been impressed by their warmth, calm demeanor, and fast action, even when I called several times the same day with something I forgot to say on the previous calls. A big surprise for me was that I only got put on hold once so far, and that was during the very busy days before Christmas when patients try to get things done before the end of the year. Any other time I called I was helped right away, with another surprise being my requests for prescription refills were sent immediately during the phone call rather than being left as a message for a call back. One day I called several times about something in one of my old medical records which meant one test should include an item not normally screened but which could be a serious omission if not done in my case. I'd had the specimen taken that day, and finally found in my records when I got home the specific name of what needed to be checked. I called the doctor's office that afternoon with the information and when the test came back from the lab, sure enough that item showed in the lab report on the patient portal. Another thing is that my previous doctor, a family doctor, did very little to check me during my well checks. Dr. Jamal, however, was very thorough and as a preventive measure included an EKG (something my former doctor never did, though I was in my late 60's), which came back abnormal, so I'm going to be checked by a cardiologist. If she hadn't done that, I would have no idea something could be wrong as I'd had no symptoms of any potential problems. Regarding wait times, I did have a wait on my initial visit, not much of one on my second. There were a couple billing issues I called on which were partially an insurance issue and partially an office billing issue; I was always treated with courtesy and a helpful attitude and the issues were resolved. Overall, at this point I'm giving five stars and hopefully will have no reason to amend the rating as time goes by."

"So this dr seems to have alot of good reviews. However I do not think those reviews could have possibly come from real patient experiences. So I'm leaving my review a real patient who has been seen at this office several times.... in my opinion it seems as though this Dr. values Quantity rather than Quality. I had an appointment Firday afternoon and waited close to an hour before I was even seen. I was asked to come back a few days later and waited 1 hour 30min before the nurse came to get me. As the nurse begins to try to take my weight she couldn't even finish her sentence before she was rudely interrupted by the Dr. I thought that was really unprofessional. Whatever conversation that she needs to have with the nurse should be done after the patient is in the room. While taking my weight I also noticed there was a lot of stuff placed EVERYWHERE on the desks. Not to mention the Dr. Constant questions on "what patient she should see next and how long Ms. So and So has been waiting on Tele-visit" there is also a lot of "did you do this or did you do that?" Going on in this office between the Dr. and staff. It seems to me that this office is very chaotic, not very organized and likes to double and triple book slots. Again the more patients the more money. Quantity instead of Quality. I believe that is the reason why this dr is always excepting new patients. You could call today and most likely get an appointment for same day if not the next day, just be prepared to wait an hour or more. Dr Jamal seems to be a nice Dr. But because she values Quantity and looks to have more patients than she or her staff can handle. She dosen't remember anything you discussed in your last visit and often looks clueless. This is not something I value in a physician or physicians office. While the nurse, receptionist and lab lady are really nice this is still too much of a chaotic, unprofessional, and unorganized office. They will double and triple book without and consideration for the patient or the patients time. If you dont believe me go ahead and book an appointment. I can assure you it wont be long until you experience the things I've listed above."
