"Dr. Villegas has cared for my two kids since birth. His interest in healthy kids is shown through his interactions with both parents and kids. At times, appointments can be lengthy, but time with Dr. Is not brief. He takes time to care and listen. His staff is very professional and help assist in getting signatures when needed on forms like physicals."

"The 3 stars are for the Dr. He is very friendly and gentle with babies. However, I am very disappointed with how the staff handles scheduling. My baby was very sick and had already been to urgent care twice over the course of 4 weeks so she needed to be seen by the Dr. I called the office for 5 days basically pleading for them to take her in, no matter how long I had to wait. I kept explaining the situation over and over, including how she wasn't even drinking anymore. Long story short, my baby ended up hospitalized due to it. After she was discharged, I followed up with him as instructed. He seemed more upset as to why she was even admitted in the first place, failing to read thru her whole chart. He was not even aware that I had tried to get her in to see him before that and possibly could have prevented the hospitalization in the first place. Poor communication from staff to physician and unfortunately patients suffer. I will be changing Dr. after this."

"At first I thought Dr. Roberto Villejas Jr was professional and ethical since he visited my baby at the hospital room in where I stayed for the time of my baby's arrival and offered his services which lead me to have him as my babys pediatrician. I continued with his services thinking that on my baby's check ups he was just overwhelmed with all the appointments he had to attend. I thought this in a way to justifyi his lack of professionalism and rudeness but even still THAT'S HIS JOB. BUT NOW! I CAN SAY "I'VE HAD ENOUGH". 1. He seriously MUMBLES when talking about how his patient (my baby) is doing and when ever I would ask him to repeat himself- he would get upset and didnt clarify anything. 2. At the end of my baby's check up he literally... LITERALLY!!! OPENS UP A DOOR AND LEAVES- ( without letting me know what medication is being prescribed any necessary follow ups or a GOOD BYE). I THEN had to ask the nurses in regards to all my concerns WHEN HE IS THE RESPONSIBLE ONE TO BE ANSWERING THEM INSTEAD. 3. Once after waiting 5 hrs to have my baby checked because she was very sick he asked me if my baby had fever for the past days I said yes about 102, 103 degrees F. And he replied: " A fever is more than 104 , so let me ask you again.... has the baby gotten fever for the past days". I was amazed he had the audacity to talk to me without considering that I HAD SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT SINCE 2! DAYS AGO... HAD TO WAIT 5 HRS... BEING THE LAST ONE TO BE ASSITED IN THE ROOM AND MY BABY WAS SICK.... I just held back because I really needed my baby to get medication... 4. He has interrupted my babys check up just to watch (THROUGH AN APP) HOW A PACKAGES ARE DELIVERED IN HIS FRONT DOOR. Not 1 but 3 times!!! As far for the staff they are great they are always willing to answer any questions. It seems they are tired of putting up with him. I think he should retire, perhaps he is too old to handle many appointments and his bad attitude doesn't help. It would seem he acted nice in the begging because he was more interested in the money from my insurance other than really caring for my baby's health. Do yourself a favor and if you are the type of mommy that are always on top of eveything in regards to your baby' health DONT HAVE HIM AS YOUR BABY'S PEDIATRICIAN ."

"We love Dr. Villegas! He was referred to us by several nurses that work in pediatrics here in Laredo. He is a straight forward NO BS Dr and tells it like it is. He is knowledgeable, helpful and kind. Wait time IS RIDICULOUS but he's the best! Unfortunately, we are underserved with the medical community here in town. Dr. V was in the delivery room when I delivered both my girls and in the NICU with my youngest. I'm forever thankful for him. Also, he knows how to deal with first time Moms- he has totally calmed me down many times."
