"Glad to see services still available to the good people in this area. Great people have worked there as evidenced by Robert Perez, Executive Director Hondo/Hill Country Medina County Community Mental Health. The overall services remain the same although some of the influencers (Linda Parker, Phyllis Guderian) have moved on. Providing face-to-face services in this broad area can mean traveling to Castroville, Devine, and all areas in between. Found it interesting that Matthew McConaughey was raised abt 42 miles west of Hondo in Uvalde. If Hondo feels like the edge of the earth, it may be because it is abt an hour-and-a-half from Del Rio the international bridge to Mexico."

"I've suffered from severe depression & anxiety all my life. In desperation due to a horrible life scenario, I went to Hill Country MHDD Center since it was close to my home. In 2016-2017 I got the run around - no actual treatment, so I sought out emergency counseling 'out of pocket' elsewhere to save my own life. In late 2018 I had to try again & it was even worse for me and two other family members... I had meds I never took & diagnosis's I wasn't aware of added to my "records". When I asked the revolving doc some things, she was dismissive since nothing happened on her "30 day" watch... My advice is to seek out support to help yourself, so don't bother with Hill Country MHDD Center. Don't give up, find a place to get help. You deserve it."
