"I took several cattle to John and they messed up the meat on all of it. We couldn’t eat the meat from anything because they had aged the beef too long, left bone fragments in all of the ground beef, and it smelled and tasted horrible. He pretended like nothing was wrong at first, and then said they had had a problem with their freezers, told me he would supply me with more beef to fix the problem, and then did absolutely nothing.two years later he still won’t fix it and I wouldn’t want anything else he produced. He is dishonest, and I would never waste my cattle in his butcher shop again."

"Took a fresh carcass of a steer to be aged and processed on Oct 20. Was told meat was ready on Nov 17 and was picked up same day. Thawed 3 packages of meat for dinner the next night and they were putrid ROTTEN! Immediately called Smoker Meats and left a msg with another man saying the meat was rancid. He just said, "Okay, I will let John know"and took my number. I never heard back from Smoker Meats but I was able to stop payment on my check. The Health Department now has samples of my meat and told me he does not even have a permit to sell to the public! An entire steer went to waste. Do not use."

"We've taken John many beef to be processed. He was going to age them two weeks and then process them. Over a month later the beef was finally ready. Every other processor gives me the pickup date when I drop them off. Most of our customers request in processing was ignored, patties, roast size,thevamount of roast, amount of burger in a package, and most burger packages where very inconsistent up too a pound light or heavy. When we looked at the cutting orders nothing waswrote down that they requested. The steaks weren't trimmed and had some of the mold from being over aged incorrectly on them. We ended up taking back a whole animal because it smelled and taste funny. After asking about it he admitted that they had cooler problems and wouldn't replace the meat or refund the processing. Long story short this place has cost us more then it's made us. We've sold beef since the 70s and have been had this many problems with processing. He is the highest on processing charge of of any processor we used and e lowest quality. Moral of the story is use at your own risk."
