"Great spot for open water swimming, birdwatching, reading a book or just staring at the clouds. Shore line is perfect for Kayak launches. Shady trees near the dam make for a cool spot for tailgating. Birdwatchers will enjoy all sorts of activity: Eagles, Osprey, a variety of ducks and heron and song birds. Connects to the Nature Center trails."

"Haven't kayaked the lake side, but the dam side os AWESOME! We love to launch from the beach, head straight across, and watch the eagles who fill the trees! I haven't gone here yet and not seen at least three! Lots of coves to play in and a beach at the far end. We have caught two perfectly sized catfish from shore on the lake side. Cooked them up and they tasted wonderful! Honker has something for everyone!"
