"My experience was excellent. The entirety of the property is impeccably well kept and it's evident that a thousand smart decisions have been made to ensure consistency, comfort, and good maintenance. It's been my experience that good people strive to do good business, and that seems especially manifest in hotels. Thanks very much."

"I will be truly objective and fair as I compose this review. I will point out some things, that hopefully, will help other travelers make a decision. Upon checking in, I presented identification, credentials, along with booking confirmation. With my driver's license in his possession, I was then asked a third time for my name, which I gave him once again. After he had my information pulled up on his computer, I was cautioned in a stern manner that at all times only 2 persons were allowed in this room. Right... My reservations were made through a very dependable third party app, and clearly stated myself, my significant other, with no pets as the only two occupants of the room. I somewhat bewilderingly said "yes, I see". It was difficult to understand if this staff member was welcoming me to their establishment or obsessed with 2 person occupancy. After the strange check-in, we could not find the remote for the television which was a very nice wall-mounted unit. The same staff member did provide me with a remote control, poorly taped on the back to hold batteries in. With my own electrical tape, I did a very impressive repair on the remote, (no-charge) and enjoyed channel flipping. I did request a smoking room but could not locate any ashtrays. I was told I could get them at the office. We used an empty Coke can or two and got by okay. There was no coffee maker or plastic cups, so I grabbed the well-worn looking ice container and set out to locate the ice machine. The elusive aforementioned equipment was located just outside the office, underneath a staircase, but was non-operational at this time. I then asked for the location of the vending machines or a drink machine. I was told there was none available but there were some small bags of chips available from the front office for 2 dollars. I also was informed about the non-functional guest laundry, which I assume may or may not exist anymore. The next morning I exited the room at 8:30 a.m. to find a laundromat located directly across the street. The same staff member asked me if I planned to check out that day and I assured him that we would be checking out by the posted time which was 11:00 a.m. At 10:38 a.m., as my wife was watching TV while packing up, a loud knock was heard at the door. I was exiting the shower but still heard the noise, and immediately, without any time to respond let alone answer the door, a loud exclamation of "check out time"! I now had my towel around me and walked out of the bathroom to see the same staff member a few steps inside my room. With my shocked and bewildered wife sitting on the bed zipping up a suitcase, I inquired if it was indeed checkout time. The staff member replied , "yes !" As I mentioned, the time was actually 10:38 a.m. I also understood correctly that check out time was 22 minutes later at 11:00 a.m. and politely told the staff member this information while I drip dried from my shower. He offered no apologies then agreed with me on the correct time of checkout and calmly walked away leaving the door wide open. Seriously, this actually happened. I incorrectly assumed that the security lock in these rooms was for guest safety and privacy in case of a threat or similar issues. As you can see I was very wrong in that assumption. If you do choose to stay at this establishment I DEFINITELY would suggest using SECURITY LOCK until you have left the room for good. As for everything else, for $60, I surely would expect better treatment, maintained working facilities, staffed with trained personnel that exhibit respect to reasonable well behaved guests. At best, it was uprofessional, bizarre and abusive treatment. Most hotels in the Houston ara were near or at capacity because of a cat-4 hurricane in Central Louisiana , Delta. I don't know if that had something to do with our experience. I paid for the room in person, but saw higher pricing online. Louisiana residents seeking shelter might be desperate and seen as easy money, but I have no proof of that."
