Hyatt Regency Houston West

"Poor service levels - Stayed one night and needed to stay another night. Spoke with the front desk manager in the morning and he assured me there were 15 rooms available for the next night and he would reserve / book one for me during the day (would need to change rooms which was fine). He wrote down my name, number, and took my luggage for the day. I show up at 10pm that evening to check back in and they have no record of my reserved room. When the front desk agent is unable to address, the manager comes out to talk and offers no solutions, he just stares me down as though it was my problem. I suggest they should find a solution to their problem to which he doesn’t say much. He says he needs to check something then disappears for next 25 mins without indicating what is going on. I finally ask other front desk at 10:40pm if they are going to be able to solve this and she says it will take a while. I call the Courtyard down the hwy and they had a room and had it sorted very quickly (even gave a discount when they heard of troubles at Hyatt - a story they have heard before). I normally book business travel with Marriott and this further reinforces why I will stay away for Hyatt for reliable service. Will not even mention the poor quality of the rooms in this review, lots of others have indicated this already."

"I stayed 1 day. Great experience throughout. Charnea at the front desk was pleasant and had exceptional customer service. The lobby is eye catching and aestheicallypleasing, there are many Koi ponds and water features. The elevator allows views over the lobby. Cafe at the Lake offers breakfast, lunch & dinner. I only experienced the complimentary breakfast, the options are: eggs, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, bagels, cereal, fruits etc. My room consisted of a King Bed, large TV, small bathroom, my room did not have a view, it overlooked part of the lobby which was not a bother for me. There is valet, free parking and a garage on the property."

"Not worth the premium price! I have not even been here for 12 hours and already looking for an alternative place to stay. Positive: nice fish in the lobby, spacious entrance, free parking, comfortable bed. Negative: so many! 1. Interior is old and smelly. Don't even have a pen and notepad in the room. 2. Unfit front desk. - went there at 3am and he was so busy on the computer he didn't even greet me. - had a package delivered to the hotel. I had to sign a form bit no mention of the fees 3. Signs pointing to the fitness room lead to no where! Room is actually completely somewhere else! 4. In room refrigerator is only a cooler!"

"Really lovely hotel and overall stay. The lobby is recently beautifully renovated and and the koi fish feeding was an experience we all enjoyed. The ballrooms, meeting spaces, small shop, pool, and fitness center were nicely done and well maintained. The staff was friendly, but Ben was certainly the star of the show there. He was helpful and efficiently at every interaction. We were very impressed with him, the restaurant staff, the little cafe staff, the maintenance and housekeeping staff. The breakfasts offered at the restaurant were very good and we would certainly eat there again when staying on property. The rooms are slated for an update over the next two years, but they are clean and fully functional. It is my opinion that they were constructed and furnished originally with enough high quality materials and design that they didn't have to be renovated every 10 years like a Holiday Inn or similar. So the rooms are dated but clean and decent and the suite layout options are highly functional and a favorite of ours with separate living and sleeping quarters, a Murphy bed, and two bathrooms. Overall we were very pleased with our experience and will plan to stay here in the future."

"Location was really nice, front desk staff was super friendly. Forgot shaving cream and razor and they brought some to the room. The bed was super comfy. The elevators were glass but super slow. Rates were good too."
