"We have had our tax forms prepared by the Madison, IN branch of Jackson Hewitt (specifically by your former employee Wanda) for the past four years. Wanda was great! Professional, personable, knowledgeable and perhaps most importantly, we trusted her. Unfortunately, we discovered that Wanda was no longer working for Jackson Hewitt, but we decided to leave our taxes with one of the new employees anyway. Big mistake. First off, this new individual called me and said “I have bad news, you owe x# of dollars this year”and proceeded to go over my taxes with me on the phone. I asked if we could schedule a meeting and go over them line by line and to compare them with last year’s (the amount she indicated was a substantial increase from previous years and we were suspicious). Anyway, she was reluctant, but then agreed to a meeting. During our meeting, when we pointed out an error she made in calculating our taxes, she was quick to claim that in fact last year’s taxes were filed incorrectly. What??, we thought. If that were the case, then the past 4 years have all been filed incorrectly, but apparently the IRS didn’t catch the error?? She wanted us to call someone who she claimed has been doing taxes for 16 years and could “explain” why Wanda was in error better than she was able to do. At this point, we asked if we could have our tax forms returned. Obviously, we have lost all trust in Jackson Hewitt employees and we will not be taking our taxes there in the future."

"Unprofessional. Take calls and talk to other customers while doing your taxes. Make appointment they won't hold their end. Been here 2 hrs. She is not a professional tax preparer doesn't know how to finish my taxes. Had appointment waited downtown for an hour. Next person walks in and she comes out and tells me to go to the other location? Why not tell the person that just walked in that....?"
