"Nothing like it used to be. Salad is now just lettuce and chickpeas. They used to have corn, amazing pickles, tons of cucumber, onions, even occasionally hummus on the side. Meat is still similar in quality like it used to be, which is amazing. $14 for a bowl from 11 but a decrease in quality. Different owners now?"

"the more i try other halal places, the more i appreciate just how awesome Halal Time is. Their halal is without a doubt, the best i've had in this city, or indeed, this country. the quality and quantity of their rice dishes are amazing. i suspect it's all about the pickles. while the meats (especially the lamb and beef Shawarma) are excellent (as is their kebabs and hummus)... the authentic mid-eastern pickles add just the perfect touch of flavor. the rice is always cooked to perfection, and the vegetables are fresh and perfectly paired in the dishes."

"My husband ate here recently and lost his phone. The owner, Sam, was so kind and helpful during a very stressful situation. Sam and his employees went out of their way to locate the phone and we are so very grateful. Fantastic food, spectacular customer service, and truly wonderful people."

"This review is bitter sweet for me to write because I used to be a Halal Time diehard. I've eaten here a few dozen time and the owner maintained exceptional quality even at 2am. Unfortunately, the truck is now run on autopilot. I don't blame the owner, he earned it. But sadly, the food is just not nearly as good as it used to be.. Service is way worse and the wraps are very sloppy. Quality control is just not what it used to be. I don't think I'll be going out of my way to eat here like I used to."

"BEST LAMB GYRO IN AUSTIN. I've been to dozens of places in Austin and have determined that this place dishes out the best gyro around. While there is some good competition, I still think this place is the best. The Lamb within the gyro has nice crispy edges. The taziki sauce is spot on and they put the perfect amount of hot sauce on there to spice it up just a little bit. They even toss in these special marinated pickles which give the gyro its own special taste"
