La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Hopkinsville 345 Griffin Bell Drive, Hopkinsville, KY 42240

"This hotel was such a great experience compared to what we had just went through at the hotel we were at before this one. We stayed for 8 days at another property close by and it was the worst experience of my entire adult life traveling. We felt so unwelcome and the staff was some of the rudest employees I have ever encountered. After trying to make it work for 8 days I finally said enough was enough and we moved over to the LaQuinta. It was the best decision I’ve ever made regarding accommodations. We knew it was probably gonna be at least another 10 days before we could go back home and the staff was so kind to us and made a very stressful situation a lot easier on me and my family. The made us feel welcome and went above and beyond in helping us get settled in and comfortable. The room was very spacious and comfortable beds with a pull out bed from the sofa that worked out great. Plenty of extra blankets and pillows. The mini fridge and microwave helped with getting snacks and drinks to keep in the room. There is a laundry room on the 2nd floor which came in very handy with not having to find a laundromat. The breakfast every morning was hot fresh and delicious. The lobby was always spotless with fresh coffee and hot chocolate which yes granddaughter loved! The indoor pool was actually down for maintenance while we was there but looked like it would be a great way to entertain the little ones while there. I have promised my granddaughter a Nana and Rae getaway when they have it fixed so she can swim and try it out. Everything was just a wonderful experience staying here. The staff made a difficult experience a little easier with the way they treated us for those 10 days. I hope that the owners of this property know how lucky they are to have such an amazing staff."

"I have a lot to say about this hotel. We check in and the lady is really nice and everything. Now this hotel is supposed to be “smoke free” but we checked into our first room and it smelled so bad like cigarettes. The lady was nice enough to let us have a new hotel room but then the second room didn’t even have a smoke alarm in it. I feel like that’s not safe at all. Our other family also had to go change rooms to similar reasons. I dont recommend this hotel expect the lobby is nice. Oh also the pool don’t swim in it it’s disgusting. The water is all green and gross and the pool smells like pee. It makes you smell like pee when you get out of it. Very loud and echoing. The breakfast is good but I saw ants on the counter."

"Usually I do not leave bad or negative reviews. Oh boy, this is quite the La Quinta. It seems distressed with a lot of deferred maintenance. I don't think the owner is doing anything to keep the hotel looking nice on the inside. A typical La Quinta is so much better. This was far below the standard. I got a room there, one of the King suites they had. They said it was the best king suite deluxe room they had, room 301. The elevator is in need of maintenance. Lots of clunking and banging when getting to the floor you selected. When we got to the room it was hot. The AC was not on. It had a strange smell too, probably from the ac not being on. The couch in the room had some very large stains on it. I would not sit on it. The bathroom. The lower corner of the shower looked so bad. I don't know if it's hard water or mold or just lack of cleaning. It was so gross. Then next to the mirror on the right side it looked like someone took a pick axe to the wall and then they didn't want to repair it, but they decided to just paint right over it. I think the pool is not being maintained because pool water should be clear. This was very cloudy and had a strong smell. I had to leave and go to one of the hotels right behind them. It's a lot more expensive but now I feel like I can relax."
