"You pay 150 dollars for a consultation; just to see if they will take you on. They claim they will, but reference you outside their office . The place is kind but not helpful for someone who has ocd and in a tight financial situation. They accept hsa but not insurance . They were helpful to give me list of places that would be a be better “fit” . I say “fit” because there twice as expensive and they don’t answer there phones ; I waited over a month for a consultation. I did more research and found an amazing counselor close to home and more over qualified (as a place , not as an individual person in comparison) that took me on, and was half the cost. Please use physiology today to find someone. I’m sure this place is helpful to people who got referred here or actively go here, but as someone who has nothing to go off of and browsing the internet trying to find help this might not be a good idea. But I will say the place is kind , and they tried to be helpful despite not actually being helpful ."

"I have called during business hours, emailed and messaged on FB and could not get ahold of anyone to even set up an appointment. I'm not even sure this is a real practice."

"first appointment is not a “therapy” appointment but a consultation. they will ask you what OCD stands for (kind of degrading to ask a grown adult who is seeking care for ocd what the letters mean) and then you will be explained like your are a child what the terms mean. You will also be quizzed on your definition of “consent” and other therapy terms. 150$ for a consultation and then 400$ for a diagnosis. Consultation and diagnosis process happen before a real therapy session can take place. if you’re looking for continued care this will not be the place for you. i was told during consultation all care has a “termination” date. overall this seems 100% focused on ocd but not entirely trauma informed which was evident through the consultation session. they will also want to record you which i opted out of. they should be more verbal that this is a consultation and not a therapy session. the therapist told me herself it wasn’t therapy so i didn’t feel comfortable sharing what i was dealing with but looking back on it i didn’t even feel if it was a right fit or not for my situation because i spent an hour having a lesson on OCD and not talking about if this is in alignment with my struggles. Immediately jumping into a “diangosis” process with someone i have not established care with yet is 1) daunting 2) just seems like the wrong way to do things especially if you’re struggling with ocd and ptsd fyi - yes there is the clinical understanding of ocd but quizzing patients on how much they know and disregarding their lived experience is not trauma informed. i know what OCD living it everyday and i an didn’t need to be asked “what does OCD stand for?” when i am a grown human and live the experience of ocd everyday of my life. please take into consideration that people seeking care from you probably know what OCD is and don’t need to be explained like they are 5 that felt so degrading especially when so many of us already have had not so good experiences in the mental health field. Maybe the therapist should consider less informed consent and possibly the power structures that come with the therapist/patient relationship. Asking me what i defined consent to be was triggering. additionally immediately wanting to pathologize me with a 400$ diagnosis session and not see me as a human being seeking care for issues i was facing just left a bad taste for me… i left the session feeling confused because OCD doesn’t exist in a vacuum."
