"I went in for help...someone to talk to...and the assumed I was suicidal...when I drove myself? The brook was just horrible when I took my son to that place 19 yrs ago they wouldn't give his meds from a surgery he just had a wk prior...wouldn't let him eat or snack...I had to demand they release him or I was gonna find me a lawyer...pay attention to these places"
"Had a four day stay here about 2 years ago and it wasn't bad. Yeah took awhile to go through the check in process but it's a hospital. Everything takes forever in a hospital. Food was fine, staff was Ok with just one or two of them full of themselves and the other patients were fine or just friendly (might have just gotten lucky based on other reviews). Only reason I'm giving it 3 stars was there was never any one on one sessions with your doctor. You only see them for like 5 mins in the morning and they just come to see if you are ok then leave. The only other therapy was group sessions held ever hour until around 5pm. Which is OK but some people aren't comfortable telling their problems in a group. 2nd reason was the boredom. Yeah you could watch TV (that everyone had to agree on a channel) but once a week they had "free time" where they brought out board games and what not. That should be something that was available all the time to the patients."
"Admission wait is way too long! The place is dirty. Shoe prints on the walls, finger prints, food and dust all on the floors. And any place with as many bad reviews as this place has there's no way I was going to drop my kid off there and leave him. The staff doesn't seem professional either. This place needs to be shut down or seriously needs to readjust the staffing and cleanliness. Not to mention while waiting in the room, my son and I could hear and see the adults just pacing back and forth, making loud noises. That scared my son. I don't think children/teens should have to see that. Should've been separated where they don't see adult patients at all. After reading the bad reviews and seeing how filthy it looked I knew this wasn't the right place for my son to be. And for anyone saying not to pay attention to the one star reviews is ridiculous! What worked for someone else and their family doesn't always work for another family. And no, nobody just likes leaving bad reviews. I leave whatever is appropriate for any place. And this place needs to be inspected, reevaluated, readjusted, the whole nine yards! Update: my son was just released from here. The only good outcome is that a doctor finally believed me when he said my son was autistic. Other than that that place is highly unprofessional! Everytime your child is taken off a medication and put on something new they're supposed to let the child's parent/guardian know! Never once called me to let me know anything except when my son was acting out! I think and believe it's also unprofessional that all they give you when you're discharged is a discharge summary. They should have your diagnosis and everything put into place before you leaving!"
"I’m absolutely disgusted. I just needed an evaluation and I was treated as an inpatient ALSO roomed with all the inpatients. The tvs are old and the whole facility was disgusting. They took our keys from us and it took an hour to get them back. I had an old committed homeless man come up to my dad and I saying “we have more than enough beds for her tonight” I chose to leave immediately after that as that’s wildly inappropriate to even be in the same room with committed patients who obviously look that they haven’t received any help. I was treated like a suicidal/homicidal pt and the process to leave the facility took about an hour as I had to sign a refusal of care… even though i didn’t speak to a single person and have a sit down where they call the doctor just to get my keys. I was terrified as an adult and I will never return. Sad as hell that my insurance won’t cover better mental health options for people who actually need help."
"If I could give this place a no star I would be careful going there because what they don't tell u is the second u walk threw them door u supposedly have to have doctors permission to leave or they think they have the right to keep u just because u walk into the doors. I have never signed no paper just read them. I never gave consent that I wanted them to assess me I had questions about a program there and they thought that they were gunna hold me and not let me leave all because I didn't wanna stay nd I didn't like what I read on the clipboard about the way there hospital runs that department. They violated my rights the second they try to say I couldn't leave when I never said I wanted to stay I bearly asks the questions I had sign no papers and they literally locked the waiting room door like they were gunna not let me leave. University of Louisville will catch a bad rep having there name on that hospital because they were rude judgemental and very unprofessional. This place showed me how the system works when they just want ur insurance money and not really care for you. If you have a loved ones in there I really think u should take them out and find somewhere else for them to go. I was held against my own will with out even signing anything in the waiting room. This place is a joke and no Wonder Louisville bought them out because it's a terrible place to go."
