"I've been back in Houston for 18 months and have had meals that have varied in flavor and originality - and I've tried some pretty renowned restaurants. The chef at Josephine's hit it out of the park for us on BOTH counts! Started with the smoked red fish dip, followed by the crawfish with butter & garlic sauce. Dessert was exceptional as well - a great take on creme brûlée. One of the few restaurants anywhere I am keen to return to."

"Second time coming to Josephine's. First time was brunch and I had a fair time. I ordered the fried chicken and to my surprise it wasn't a half chicken has advertised, but an airline cut chicken, which is a smaller portion. I originally wanted a half chicken to have leftovers for lunch, but with the smaller cut that wasn't specified on the menu I barely had leftovers. Chef was apologetic and very nice. I also got to try their new serving of crawfish which was small and expensive since it's so early in the season... But the flavor was delicious. My friend enjoyed her creme brulee dessert too. Minus the smaller chicken serving , I still enjoyed my meal."

"Had a large team dinner here. Staff was exceptional and handled it very well. The food was some of the best cajun food I’ve had in a long time. Everything was really delicious. Would recommend this place to anyone. Well done !"

"Best and most creative seafood dishes I've had in a very long time. Charming buzzy atmosphere. Busy enough on a Saturday midday to feel the friendly vibes of the staff, but not too busy to get great service. Will definitely be back. (And there was a visiting Beard Award-winning chef having a meal there at the same time as us!) BTW this would be an excellent place for a large group gathering."

"Fantastic evening and great dining adventure. Food was solid and Jeremiah our server was more tour guide and sherpa than he was a waiter. His passion had us just telling him to "bring us your favorites" and our faith was rewarded. We started off with the redfish.dip and fried saltines....Wow! Next we had the Snapper Collars, Stone Crab Rice, and okra. All were great and the family enjoyed them. Finally, for dessert we tried the Peanut Pie and the Chocolate Mousse in a jar. Their signature peanut pie is good but I'd opt for the Mousse if I had to do it over again. Nice atmosphere and incredible service."
