La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Amarillo West Medical Center

"I'm not spending my money here anymore. I checked in at 0300 and was looking forward to getting some sleep before hitting the road again. I got very rudely woken up by the cleaning staff pounding relentlessly on my door like the police. I thought some emergency was happening and answered the door half naked. To my disgust, it was just the cleaning staff wanting to know when I was leaving so they could clean the room. It was 0850. Check out is 1100 everyone knows that. I brought it up to the front desk at check out. The manager wasn't onsite, so the front desk called them. I was told, " Even though maintenance staff shouldn't be doing that so early, it's an outdoor property, so they can't guarantee noises won't wake you up." what a ridiculous answer. Beneath the usual quality of a La Quinta I think. I won't be giving this location my money next time I roll through there."

"The staff was wonderful! The room and area however, not so much. The floor hadn’t been entirely cleaned as there were sunflower seed shells by the front door and one by the bed. The coffee maker didn’t work, just leaked water all over the desk and floor. There were people outside talking into the early morning hours. And a man loitering around. I’d say go to the LaQuinta up the highway a bit."

"BED BUGS!!!!! It was late and my family and I were tired, noticed one bug on my pillow and flicked it off. Gross, but I was too tired to care about any moth or spider that was in the room. When we woke up we saw 3 more of the same kind of bug. We looked up what bed bugs look like and lo and behold, it was that bug. Not sure if my family and I now have them with us, but one of my family members has some bites on her legs. The workers were nice enough, maybe not helpful though. Do not stay at this place. The room looked nice, but upon closer inspection it looked like the room hasn’t been any sort of deep cleaned in months. People obviously live here and they aren’t quiet or friendly. Avoid this place if you can."

"We often stay at LA Quinta by Wyndham and love them. This place was not representative of the La Quinta's we normally stay at. I'm pregnant with two little ones. Safety and cleanliness are imperative. I didn't even shower because there was black mold growing in the bathroom. Rust on the faucet. It smelled like cigarettes the entire night and was hard to breathe. If we hadn't been so exhausted from traveling, we surely wouldn't have stayed here. We were supposed to head to the airport La Quinta, but my tired husband saw this one first and pulled in. Do not make the same mistake we made. The floors were dirty. My bed didn't even have a blanket on it, only sheets. This place is a grungy disaster. Avoid it especially if you're traveling with small children."

"This was a nice room to stay in for an overnight stay as I was traveling through the state. I came in late and left early so I cannot comment on the appearance of the area but my room was clean and nice, They accepted dogs so that was one of the reasons I picked it. Staff were nice and cheerful as well. For the price, I feel it was a great room for an overnight stay."
